Trying to look innocent, Jack smiles at them both. "What? It's *boring* here. Parker, you of all people should know that." He grins. "I got a red lollipop from House for yarking on your shoes."
Sam sat down on the edge of the bed and made herself comfortable by shoving him over. "You should stop bringing that up. She's a better shot than I am."
"No way." Jack narrowed his eyes at Parker, who had her arms crossed and was studying him like she was trying to figure out where to put the first shot. "Seriously?" He reached for Carter's hand. "You'll protect me though, right?"
In a frantic rush to distract Parker, Sam tried to come up with a new topic of conversation. "Parker, do you have a skirt I could borrow? I've been trying to come up with a new style, but don't want to invest until I find one that works for me."
Parker cocks her head sardonically, but lets the subject of Dr. Carter go. "I suppose. Something in silk, red? Would look good on you." She taps her lower lip. "But I'd like to borrow something in return, if you don't mind."

She looked at Parker, curious. She couldn't imagine that the girl wanted to borrow a wrench. "What do you want to borrow?"
