Sam was no longer unconscious, thankfully, and was currently laying in the bed and worrying about finals like a great big dork.

Dawn wasn't worrying about finals, as she was still sleeping in a chair next to the bed.

Dean had let Dawn have that chair and had dragged a chair from another room in for himself. He was sprawled in it, looking like he was sleeping as well, but was actually watching Sammy from under his lashes.

"Stop worrying about whatever it is you're worrying about and get some rest," he said softly, without moving a muscle.

"I'm not worrying about anything," Sam lied. "And I am resting. I'm horizontal in a bed, aren't I?"

"You're lying there worrying about something instead of being a good patient and sleeping," Dean said, opening his eyes completely and turning his head more fully towards his brother.

"I'm being a very good patient," Sam argued. "If I was a bad patient, I'd be yelling for the doctor to come in so I can get out of here."

"Okay, I'd be making you yell for the doctor then," Sam said. "I can't stay here all day."

Sam narrowed his eyes at Dean. "If our roles were reversed, you'd already be forming a plan to break out."

Before Dean could reply to that, the door opened, admitting an extremely worried looking John Winchester. His eyes flicked over Dean, acknowledging his presence before focusing in on Sam in the bed.

Sam looked towards the door, and smiled weakly. "Hey Dad."

"Sam." His worry made him sound gruff. He looked from Sam to Dean. "What happened?"

"Sammy had an argument with a wall and lost," Dean said. "He doesn't remember it so that's about as much as we know so far."
