"I don't know how this happened." She tried to clarify for herself but really didn't know how.
"Thank you," she replied softly, taking the pills and washing them down with the water. "Ginger ale would be good and I'm not hungry yet." Annette glanced at Dick, "Maybe he wouldn't mind getting me something later, if I get hungry."
Turning her eyes back upon the Doctor, she asked, "Will I be able to go home today, maybe by this evening?"

"Memory loss is common with head wounds," Elliot said. "If you can remember everything else, you're probably okay."
She went to fetch the soft drink. Handing it to Annette, she added, "I think you should stay for a little bit longer so we can keep an eye on you, but if you feel ready to go home on Janet's shift tonight, tell her you have my go-ahead."

She held the soft drink in her hand, propping herself up as best she could. Nodding a little Annette said, "Okay, doctor, that sounds good." And she was hurting a good bit. She wasn't quite sure how she would manage once she got back to her room. Having finals this week sort of set her resolve though.

"We can't let you go too fast," Elliot explained.
She glanced at Annette's chart again. "I think that's it for now. Hit the call button if you need anything? Or the nurse will be in in a bit to check your vitals."

"I will, promise. Thank you." She answered low and leaned her head back against her pillow. The bandage on her head was itching a little and she reached up, feeling it. She dreaded having the stitches taken out when it was time.
Looking back over at Dick, she asked him, "How are you feeling?"
