Elliot was still rubbing sleep from her eyes as she came into the clinic. She checked the exam rooms to make sure there weren't any patients, then made some tea and settled in at the desk to catch up with her medical journals. Or browse blogs for reactions to the Strifenova Celestia season finale. Possibly both.

After promising Aeryn, John wandered into the clinic, still holding his hand gingerly.

"Hello?"

[He punched a wall last night and probably broke his hand. Because he is an idiot.]

"Hi," Elliot greeted, hurriedly clicking her web browser closed. She gave John an appraising look. "Is something going on with your hand?"

"I hurt it last night," he said. "Sorry for bothering you."

Elliot shook her head. "Please, it's my job." She gestured to the first vacant exam room. " Go back in there and hop up on the bed. I'll be in as soon as I get my supplies together."

John walked into the room, moved to sit on the table and kicked his legs against the bed.

Elliot came in carrying bandages and first aid supplies, and dragging a portable X-ray unit behind her. After putting the things where she could easily use them, she gave John a quick professional smile and held her own hands out. "Let me see."

He stuck his hand out towards her, wincing a little and vowing never to punch any more things that were immovable.

Outside the clinic, the squirrel on watch took note of John's exit in a cast, then went back to sleep.
