Christan festively decorated the Alanna statue with a red, white, and blue hat and stuck a sparkler in her hand. Faithful got a red, white, and blue collar, complete with bell. Then he settled in to wait for the inevitable firecracker injuries.

As grateful as she was to the fine medical staff at the clinic, Seras was anxious to be checked out of the place.

She'd dressed and was now sitting up on her bed, doing her best to look non-concussed.

"How are you feeling today?" Christian asked, flipping through Seras's chart as he walked into the exam room.

"Completely recovered," said Seras, doing her best to give a winning smile while, mentally, she swore that she'd make several sacrifices to the God of Nosebleeds if he'd let her get through this exam.

Christian checked her pupils and did a couple other handwavey tests. "Looks like you can go home," he said, "but no strenous physical activity for a few days. Get plenty of rest and come back in if you have a headache that won't go away, blurred vision, or nausea, okay?"
