Oh, this is marvelous! I love his awkwardness, and his giddy joy, and her shyness and uncertainty. I love how excited he is about the idea that she can regenerate, and wondering what her other faces had looked like, had she looked like Amy, had she looked like Rory.

His realization that she is so young, so early in their time together. And his joy at discovering she has two hearts, even while he knows he has to make her think he knows more than he does.

And how dumbfounded he is to find out it wasn't him, but the Tardis who taught her to fly. LOL! That also ties in nicely with Let's Kill Hitler and explains why he was so sure she could fly the Tardis, that she was the Child of the Tardis.

I loved this whole thing.

We must have gotten the same idea at the same time, the idea of having the Doctor meet a very much younger River, I just posted my own story, VengeanceIt's also about the Doctor meeting her just after LKH for her. It has some unusual parallels to your story, which just confirms my thought that god sprinkles ideas over
