Ooh, I like it a lot. Very... them; you've really shown how they'd work together. A "fictionalised ship manifesto" indeed -- I like that term. I also love the two of them really enjoying sex, being so casual about it.

And if this is, as you say, just a jumping off point for even more... I'm excited!

Oh, I'm so glad! Thank you so much; I'm really pleased you thought it worked :) And yeah, I am hoping to write more of them - but I'm one of those people who has to know every detail about what she's writing before she can do it, so I sort of needed to get something to establish the pairing in my mind out of my system before I could write any more specific situations. I do want to write about the first time they meet, though (I'd like to do it in a plotty way - there's not much plotty f/f about, is there? if only I wasn't so awful at coming up with cases :3), and the first time they get together, among other things.

No there isn't much plotty f/f (I can think of some examples, but not nearly as many as there are for het and slash). And I love plotty-shippy fic -- it's my favorite sort of fic to read, and I am terrible at it because I fail at long stories. Oh boy, I do hope you write that one!

The thing that always shoots me in the foot with long stories is dialogue - I really struggle with dialogue, and while you can avoid it or minimise it in one-shots and drabbles, I think a longfic without dialogue would seriously grate :3 But I'm trying to practice plottier writing atm, so I might give something a go with these two :) If you've got any recs, though, they'd be much appreciated - I love plotty shipfic too, and I'm always thrilled to find new good ones.
