Yeah, I just posted an hour ago, but a question has popped into my head: what would The Road to El Dorado be like if it had been made not by DreamWorks, but by Disney?I'm pretty sure if it had been produced by Disney, Miguel and Tulio would have sung "The Trail We Blaze"...heck, Miguel probably would have sung "Without Question", Elton John would' ( Read more... )

Yeah XD. I mean, Disney films aren't exactly precious and pure themselves, but I think Dreamworks prided itself on being the edgier of the two and it shows in their films. I think they just would have gone about some of the more adult oriented scenes a little more subtly.

Dude, it would have been LAME. I love Disney, but they're very buttoned-up and kinda whitewashed, and what I love about DreamWorks is that they just do what they want. They've got guys sleeping in the same bed and Biblical shit with babies being tossed off cliffs in TPoE and Shrek farting and all sorts of stuff. I love them for it, ngl. Sometimes Disney movies kinda talk down to kids, and DreamWorks doesn't.

(P.S., I watched my new DVD the other day and the subtitles didn't have any of the "darlings" or anything. Sad panda!)

Yeah, DreamWorks rocks...:-D. (Although, I must admit, I could do without Shrek's fart jokes, but that's just me...:-P.)

(I think it's just the VHS tapes that contain the "darlings"...D-:. I have a VHS tape and they didn't show, so I'm guessing they have to be really old? Haha, dang....)

Aw, no, really? I think I read it was "some DVDs," so maybe it's non-American DVDs or something. And to think, I was just in Europe. Then again, region 2 DVDs don't play over here...so maybe I'm just destined to be without. That is tragic.

I don't think Disney would do "It's Tough to be a God," out of fear of offending.

And it wouldn't be nearly as good a film. Disney really would have stripped it bare/taken the edge off.

No sex/heavy petting with the Tulio/Chel scene, either. 8D They probably would've just had them kissing or something lame like that. Tulio is obviously incredibly horny and Disney would've wiped that delicious smirk off of his face :3~
