It takes water to get the electricity. It takes electricity to get the water. As each needs a way to get to the people something will always need to be used and it will always be one or the other. When one has been used for a while they decide it is being used too much and switch to the other and then do it again when it has again been a while. It is a never ending cycle that has gone on since before either of us were born.

Yeah so true. Ihad just seen one of those Green People Rant endlessly on how great both were and how we all should be using water to power our cars, which would be fine if they ran off of salt water, but since everyone has to use the clean water we get out of the hose pipes how can these people be backing it. I mean these are the same people that remind us that we only have so much clean water and it takes so much work to make water clean....It drives me crazy. Just like electicity. They bitch about how dirty it is to make it like using water turbins and how the by product is SO BAD, but then they want to increase the use...Also I can't help but think about all the cities that are already on the max of their power grids.

All in all as you said a never ending cycle.
