Sudden disappearance or just a super late arrival of a normal PMS symptom?

Ever since I began menstruating 13 years ago, I have had the plague of sore boobs. I started tracking my BBT last month and noticed that my breasts became tender the day I ovulated, which I thought actually made a lot of sense. This month, according to my chart, I ovulated on the 16, and should see my period in the next two days or so, but my ( Read more... )

Well, tender breasts have always been a symptom for me, even without birth control, though when I was on the pill, they literally hurt all. the. time. Last month, the first month I ovulated after stopping my pills, I had my normal breast tenderness; I'm just confused/curious because this month I have nothing, and that has literally never happened, but I'm willing (and prefer) to chalk it all up to changes due to stopping birth control. I know that some bodies can take several months or more before they're finally back to pre-HBC conditions (though it is somewhat concerning when all that comes up in a Google search for "my breasts are always sore before my period but this month they're not" is "this happened to me too and I was pregnant!" Trying not to psych myself out unnecessarily though, since according to my chart I was several days past my fertile window). Thanks for your comment; it's reassuring to have someone else say that it's likely just my body adjusting to coming off HBC still. :)

I had this happen a few times over the years. My acupuncturist said I was probably not actually ovulating those months. I'd still get a normal period, but other things would be off kilter.

Theoretically you could have gotten pregnant this month if you had sex in the fertile period and a condom failed and you didn't notice. More likely it's just a weird blip from going off HBC. I certainly don't think you got pregnant LAST month, that's a pretty clear thermal shift there.

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking, since, of course the day I post about it, that evening my boobs are like, "hey, remember us? Yeah, here, have some ouch." I think it has something to do with a combination of coming of my HBC and drinking more water this week recently (every now and then PMS makes me feel really dehydrated, so I find this go 'round I'm partial actual water rather than my usual soda). But thanks for commenting; every bit of encouragement/advice helps. :)

I've always had sore breasts before my period, and since tracking I've noticed I get it from almost the day of ovulation to the day before my period. And the last few months I've cut down on my caffeine and I've noticed at times a significant decrease in tenderness, where it's really unnoticeable. Something to consider.
