I am completly new to the FAM method. I have been told to spend a good 6 months just charting my periods before I actually "start" but I really need a good resource. I understand most of it, but I don't have the money to spend on the book. What are good websites?

If you suck greedily on every last bit of info it offers, you'll be settled for life. Although it is always recommended to follow a course or study off a book that is meant for self-learning about the contraceptive purposes, if you want to absolutely guarantee that Pearl index for yourself.

Remember that FF is geared towards conception and it's actually against its policy to use it for birth control (the disclaimer of course has to be there)
Also, if you use their online software to chart, NEVER rely on FF's interpretation of the O date, because it's notorious for being off. Often slightly, but enough to be a problem.

Go online to your local library's catalog system and order either Taking Charge of Your Fertility or Garden of Fertility.

You can get a lot of information at ovusoft.com, which is done by the Taking Charge of Your Fertility people, but there really isn't a replacement for the book. Can you get it at the library? That's what I did at first.

You can get it used on Amazon for less than $15 including shipping. http://www.amazon.com/Taking-Charge-Your-Fertility-Anniversary/dp/0060881909/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1258222715&sr=8-1

The Fertility Friend eBook is free and they have a good charting FAQ: http://www.fertilityfriend.com/HelpCenter/ffhandbook.html

Ovusoft.com has info, too.

I'd check Taking Charge of Your Fertility out of the local library, though, if I were you.

Or, you could buy a previous edition of the book for really cheap: http://product.half.ebay.com/Taking-Charge-of-Your-Fertility_W0QQprZ1885517QQitemZ341277676328QQtgZvidetails

The information the others have given is great, and this is just a little note on getting a copy of the book - if you can't find it at your library, Amazon usually has previous editions of TCOYF or maybe even current editions that have been used, for very cheap. I remember getting mine (the 2001 copy) for <$5 including shipping, so if you end up really wanting to buy it and can spare the $10 or so, that's an option. :)
