So, this is my first cycle charting in about a year, and when I charted about a year ago, I only charted one or two cycles, the records of which I don't currently have access to. And, unfortunately, I don't have this chart electronically, so, I beesech your help with a logic game ( Read more... )

I really wouldn't panic *at all*. If you'd charted for a year or more and never had an lp over 10 days, then I'd test; but I think it's very likely that your period will start in a day or so, so I wouldn't bother except to put your mind at rest if you're seriously worried.

I would say, though, that it's probably best to avoid sex without a barrier method until you've charted for a bit longer and feel more confident in interpreting the results. I think many more people use the withdrawal method than admit to it (I certainly do!) but it does have a substantially higher failure rate with younger men (!) so that might be worth bearing in mind too.

I completely agree with helixaspersa. I wouldn't worry too much now. And be a bit more careful in the future, especially since you are a new charter. :)

I agree, I'd use a barrier or other method until you're more practiced.

I wouldn't worry at all -- for a couple of days before my cycle starts it feels as though it is. My LP phase is 11-12 days, depending; and so it doesn't seem too far out of range for you.

I wouldn't test or worry, yet. One of the things about charting is that you know when to expect your period, so in a sense, you start looking for your period and noticing every little detail.

If you find yourself 18 DPO with temps above your coverline, then I'd say you are pregnant.

And if in a day or two, your period doesn't come, I see no harm in testing if it soothes your nerves that much sooner.
