Delayed Ovulation due to stress

My dh and I are currently (very casually) TTC, but dealing with a very long cycle. I'm CD42 and I haven't O'd yet. For the last twenty days, I've consistently had EWCM each day accompanied by a close-to medium cervix. Late November and all throughout December were stressful for both of us: I got turned down for a big promotion, dh had ATM card and ( Read more... )

I think you can O that late in a cycle, but I don't know if the implantation can happen that late in a cycle...someone with more knowledge should chime in.

The one time that I'm almost positive my delayed O was due to stress (travel, I think), I ovulated about 2 weeks later than normal. I wasn't dealing with stressful event after stressful event, though! (And, I'm sorry life is dogpiling you!)

I'm very interested in answers to this as well as I have a friend who is dealing with the same situation: she's on CD50 and no O in sight, when she was formerly very regular!

Well it doesn't matter so much since you're ttc anyway, but *definitely* don't assume that as it's so late you won't ovulate. You may well still do so, especially if you continue to have EWCM and if your temps stay low. I have several times ovulated up to a couple of weeks later than normal, and had a normal luteal phase following it. I can't think of a reason why there'd be any problem conceiving from a very "late" ovulation. It's also possible that your body will eventually 'give up' and start again without ovulating, though that's never happened to me - it seems I always get there eventually.

my longest cycle where it looks like I ovulated was 52 days long and I o'd around day 37. My longest cycle in general was about 180ish days but I didn't ovulate. We miscarried in November after also v. casually TTC.

I think the thing is just to relax and see what happens. Your body might just need to restart (without the O), your chart might not be showing it even if you are or you just might have really long cycles.
