Anovulatory Cycle Question

Aug 14, 2008 08:19

Hi everyone! My copy of TCOYF is not with me right now and I've got a question about Anovulatory cycles.... I vaguely remember reading in TCOYF that if the cycle is anovulatory, hypothetically you wouldn't experience PMS symptoms before your "period" since you didn't ovulate. Can someone confirm/deny this for me? Thanks! :)

Tough call. A lot of women on the pill still get "PMS" even though they're not ovulating. I think hormone fluctuations - regardless of ovulation (or lack thereof) - can cause mood swings, tiredness, etc.

I do not ovulate but I still have PMS, a few days of eggwhite CM around day 14 and the whole deal :(

I've seen websites on PMS which reckon that most people with PMS aren't ovulating! In fact, it can be fairly annoying when they blithely assume that, as I do ovulate, I have a nice little 9-day luteal phase and I'd rather they addressed that.
