How many DPO until pregnancy symptoms typically kick in?

depends. 3-7 is common(ish), and some women don't even get symptoms, or not until later in the first trimester.

would it be ok (accurate) to take a HPT as early as 7 DPO?

yes but you are risking a false negitive then (or it picks it up and turns out to be an early miscarrige). You have to get one that can detect low levels of pregnancy hormone and probably retest.

I think 3 is a little eary....I'd say anywhere from 5-10.

I was probably around 10DPO, but my very early symptoms were the same as my PMT ones (cramping). I didn't get any weird symptoms - sore boobs and extreme tiredness - until around 15DPO.

My sore breasts were the only obvious one and they hit at the same time they do for PMS, about 3-4 days before my period was due. In retrospect I also noticed a little slowdown of my bowels and some gassy reflux in the days before I took the test, so about 12-14 dpo?

I've never actually counted, but I know it's before my missed period. I've always joked that my symptoms actually start before I ovulate. ;-)
