"Libido-suppressing halos, my ass. I don't know that I've ever been on a set with this much romantic intrigue." Christina comments as they watch an assistant script supervisor tug a giggling grip behind a corner in minute 8 of a take-5.
Laura raises an eyebrow at her. "You need not sound so superior, considering what happened last weekend."
Christina watches the chaos on set, brought on by an unfortunate series of events that occurred after the wide shot and Laura's close-up, and that now needs to be returned to it's original state of resembling a backdrop before they can shoot Christina's close-up, pointedly doesn't look at Laura. "I thought you were too drunk to remember that."
"I was drunk, but nowhere near drunk enough not to remember that you kissed me."
"I did not. You kissed me, and I was too drunk to move away."
Laura leans closer, and Christina shivers. "Sweetheart, we kissed each other. And it was a damn nice kiss, too." She punctuates with a light touch on the inside of Christina's wrist.
"I shouldn't be doing this, I have a boyfriend."
"Who's gonna be in New Zealand for another two months, and besides, I thought you said you two weren't serious."
Christina abruptly turns to face Laura, bringing their faces close together. "Why are you doing this?"
"Because I want to." Laura runs a finger along Christina's temple, pushes the hair that has escaped from the ponytail back behind her ear. "Do you want me to stop?" Her voice is dancing, but her eyes are serious.
Saving Christina from having to answer comes the director's voice. "Ok, people. I'm sorry, but we're gonna need another half-hour, so everyone who isn't directly involved in fixing this mess, go get some coffee or a snack, it's going to be a long night."
Laura folds her hands in her lap, and watches as the set quickly empties, aware of the silence next to her.
"No." Comes Christina's voice suddenly, unwavering. "I don't. How about we go back to my trailer and continue this conversation?"
Laura suddenly has butterflies in her stomach, but she feels her attitude sparking against the challenge in Christina's voice, and knows it's showing in her eyes as she turns to face her. "Best idea you've had all day."
