(I think it's breaking down. Most of it just - doesn't work anymore, apps and scrolling menus and folders and documents don't respond to any kind of stimulation, the dock might as well not be there at all. The only thing still going is the Internet, and that's only because I left

I mean. Yeah! who does that? Thing is, I'm pretty sure it's my own voice - I've been recording a few podfics on garageband, and possibly the laptop is taking it from there. STILL FREAKY. JESUS.

I'm not quite sure how to clean it, tbh, I've never had a virus before (just soy sauce). I'll be rebooting it first, see what that does, and if it doesn't work I'll just erase everything and reinitialize the system, I guess. I've got most of it saved up on a harddrive, thankfully.

That's basically how I've always dealt with system meld-downs - in fact, am thinking of doing the same on this system. You lose a lot of bloatware, too, so win-win!

I hope it's nothing serious! I'm really terrible with technology, too. My laptop gave me the Blue Screen of Death a couple of times, but it hasn't acted up lately, so... /crosses fingers

Hee, The Social Network fic! I... still haven't seen that movie. /fails Although I did finally watch Inception, did I tell you? And indulged in fic for a while. i don't know what this life thing is as i certainly am not in possession of one either

The Social Network is basically the story of 1. Facebook, and 2. big, epic, tragic break-up between the two main characters. At this point it's not even subtext anymore. o/ it's rather fantastic. It's wonderfully-played, very well-written, and I rather love the fandom, lurker that I am. Go see it! :D as for Inception, I'd seen it twice when it came out, and I was. Um. I dunno - I liked it, a lot, but I was expecting more mind-fuck? I guess? which is rather a strange thing to say. But I went in thinking we were going to have a lot of different dreams entangled together, and instead we had like, four. But it's a good movie, regardless. As for fic, it's funny, because I came out of the cinema thinking people would be all over Cobb/Saito, and then it was all Arthur/Eames everywhere. Which is nice in its own way, but it surprised me. ANYWAY. /le ramble

Laptop seems to be working fine now that I've restarted it, so hopefully it'll stay that way. Yeah.

I have this working theory that over time computers slowly develop artificial intelligence, they just break down completely before they ever reach actual intelligence. And that is why old computers do the weirdest things: they are like particularly stupid babies trying to figure out the world, only with access to vast amounts of information. Thank you for supporting evidence ;)

It's about two a.m. here and I've got class tomorrow, so I'm going to turn this disfunctioning laptop off and hope for the best but it shall be the first thing I do whenever I can make it work again, be it tomorrow or whenever. I've written it on a post-it and everything.

1. I HAVE NO IDEA. It, uh, seems to be working now that I've restarted it, so hopefully it was a false alert.

2. ahahahahahhhhhhh. Four laptops in three years, I'm not even - what. I'm an uni student! I don't have the money for this. :/ thankfully, all three previous ones were second-hand, and one came free because the previous was still under warrancy. This one is only about eight months old.
