A/N: Lyrics are from 'The way you lie' By Eminem feat. Rhianna. Small set of drabbles based on Sam, figured it'd be a good excersize.
Just gonna stand there and watch me burn?
Well that's alright, I like the way it hurts.
She looked down at him for days from the ceiling, bleeding and burning and screaming for him. He didn't do anything about it, just watched his blond beauty on the ceiling. Didn't do anything about it. Perhaps he wasn't worthy of her, and that's why the Demon took her from him, because he's broken, wrong, monster. His past caught up and ripped the one innocent thing left about him away and pegged her to the roof and he just let her burn.
Just let it all burn away to nothing. Just like it always ended up doing, Sam was just poison.

Just gonna stand there and hear me cry?
That's alright, cause I love the way you lie.
I love the way you lie.
"If you go out that door, don't ever come back." His own brother thought he was weak, that he couldn't stop Lilith. It was bullshit, Dean was the weak one, the co-dependent brother. If Sam wasn't around, Dean had no sense of self. Without Sam, Dean was nothing. Well Dean had abandoned Sam before, and Sam had survived on his own...
So he went to Ruby and almost felt something for her, despite he knew somewhere in the back of his mind that something wasn't quite right with his feelings for her. His fix, his support, the girl who'd been there when Dean wasn't, she'd believed in him. So he could shrug off some of his small doubts when she'd smile at him and pull the knife out of her boot.

You ever love someone so much you can barely breathe?
The door swung open and there was someone out of a dream. Someone who was lost, dead and gone. A lifetime...was it only four months? It felt like a distant memory when they were together, two brothers in a big black muscle car driving back roads...a lifetime ago back through muddled bloody memories mixed with flesh and black smoke.
When Dean was standing in front of him though, it was hard to breathe. Dean...is it really you? You're-dead-can't-be-real. What's-dead-should-stay-dead. You said so yourself...but you're here. Everything's okay now, right? The hug was tight, all encompassing, saying what needed to be said, because neither brother could quite get the breath to say anything at all.

Maybe that's what happens when a tornado meets a volcano.
They'd been fighting, brawling, and now both of them were sporting black and blue bruises. Dean wouldn't look at Sam, though he was favoring that ankle like it was twisted. Dean's nose was bloody and his lip split. Sam wasn't fairing any better, black eye, cracked rib, and a sprained wrist.
Sam was content to maintain the angry silence, but after about thirty minutes he felt a presence beside him on the motel bed. He opened his good eye and saw a beer and an ice pack being held out to him, the younger Winchester couldn't help but take the peace offering. "Yeah, I'm sorry too Dean."
Dean grunted in response, his lip swollen and blackening. Sam held up the ice pack to his eye and nudged the beer back toward his brother.

I apologize even tho I know it's lies.
"I'm sorry, sir." Sam looks down at his feet, not sorry but saying it anyway. Dad was mad because Sam'd skipped training to go to the library to work on a project. You know, the important things? Of course not, Dad, it's all about monsters and how freakish we are.
John didn't seem impressed with his 13 year old son's apology, "You're running an extra mile tomorrow morning, now go wash up." Sam's exasperated scoff and eye roll were audible. John shook his head, the boy had no idea what went on outside, and it was about damned time that he got over this and got down to business.
