Possession is nine-tenths of the law.

Kali looked at her fingers, the blood of an Archangel, the ownership of an Archangel. Blood was life. She had left the Winchesters in their car, as soon as she felt Gabriel's life force fade. She returned to her place of power, concerned with what to do about this situation. As long as she had the blood of the Archangel, she could bring them to her, could control everything about them, including bar them from death. She had put the blood in a small vial, but she could still feel the tingle of his blood on her fingertips.

She sat on her throne, deep in thought. Her husband had been absent for some time, meeting with Death. She was consort to Shiva, the Hindu lord of Destruction, of Death. Since he was a lord of Death, he answered to the force Death, the Horseman. As such, that left Kali mostly to her own devices. As she was sitting, her eyes took in the familiar details of her throne room, the stone walls lit with large torches, the torches had left black scorch marks on the stone. Now, Loki, where does that leave us? You saved my life, by sacrificing yourself to your brother, and for that I owe you a life-debt.

The Dark Mother goddess stood and walked to a large fire place, summoning a large roaring fire in the open hearth. A few chanted words later, the center of the fire seemed to clear and she was looking into a garden. There was a young boy tending to the plants, Brahma, Lord of Creation. Kali smiled and called out, "Lord Brahma, how goes your gardening?" Her voice wasn't sweet, Kali was almost incapable of being 'sweet' though her voice was close to kind.

The boy looked up and smiled easily, placing his shears down and stepping closer to the fire. "Lady Kali, my garden is well tended, to what do I owe your call on this lovely day?" His voice was melodic, soothing, and when he spoke a flower next to him bloomed wide. He appeared for all intents and purposes as a ten year old boy. Kali knew that this boy was really an aspect of Creator.

Kali looked down at her hands for a moment, "I have a favor to ask of you. I owe someone a life-debt, and in order to fulfill it, I need your help. I need to bring back an Archangel." The quiet after she spoke was deafening, the boy seemed to be thinking. I have your blood Loki-Gabriel, I will repay my debt to you. The ageless god looked at his flowers, turning his back on Kali. She let her face fall, her hopes of performing the ritual to bring Gabriel back would be useless without an aspect of Creation.

She could bring mortals back if she had their blood, but she needed the spark from Brahma to actually bring Gabriel back. If she didn't have Brahma...she'd bring back a body, without Gabriel's essence. Brahma could give Gabriel his Grace. God may have created everything, but Brahma was a good second choice. Just as Ptah(sometimes Osiris, or Ra-Atum), or perhaps the primordial Chaos(who birthed the titans), or even Odin, all of the old 'creators' of the world held a portion of God's power. Each of them could channel the power needed to bring back the Archangel.

Brahma turned back to Kali's visage in the fire, his face very serious. "Kali, I have decided that I will help you. I will assist you in bringing back your Trickster lover." Kali had not mentioned who she was bringing back, but Brahma knew. Figures he would know, his consort was Saraswati, goddess of knowledge. She seemed to always have a little bit too much information rattling around in that head of hers.

"Lord Brahma, thank you." The goddess stepped back and moved aside as Brahma stepped through the fire. He nodded to her and strode to the middle of her throne room, bare aside from her seat placed against one wall. He said nothing as he worked, painting obscure symbols on the floor in his blood. Kali merely watched the child-god work, admiring his efficiency. He hummed while he was painting, power flowing down his arms into the blood, making it glow with the energy of Creation.

Once the large glyph was finished, Brahma stood up, looking to Kali. "Lady Kali, your addition to the ritual?" She nodded and entered into the circle, placing a bowl in the middle of the glyph, pouring the small vial of blood into the bowl. She blew into it, catching the blood on fire. Along the edge of the ancient bowl were words in curly Sanskrit writing. She raised one of her hands and traced words into the air that burned and remained. Soon as she was done she moved out of the large glyph and nodded to Brahma.

"Very well, your ritual will have to go first, as I need a body to imbue with the Archangels' essence." Brahma's true form flashed, his four arms and four faces superimposing over his boyish form. Kali could feel that her own true form was doing the same, eight arms and her skin darkening to a black that holds no light. She closed her eyes, preparing herself for the ritual chant, and sending a quick prayer to Shiva that he would not fight her will.

The chant was lilting, but commanding. She demanded the forces that be, and the force of the person's personality that they come to her. That the goddess Kali demanded him to be there, and her demands went beyond time, space, life, and death. The fiery blood flared even brighter as it expanded, forming a roughly human shape. She finished her demand and the fire went out, leaving Gabriel's nude body lying on the floor, the bowl knocked over at his waist. She felt like he should just open his eyes and grin. His sly smile full of promises and amusement. Well, if you wanted me naked, all you'd have to do is ask, beautiful.I can never leave a pretty lady in distress. Kali felt her heart twist just a little, felt it break, she should have been there, should have been able to save him.

Brahma started his chant, though it was mixed with words she could understand and another language. The other language sounded older...she couldn't place it. She could see the light coalescing above Gabriel's body, it was bright, painful to look at. She watched as long as she could, before her eyes felt like they would melt if she watched any longer. Brahma continued to chant in that foreign tongue. Kali could feel her eyes watering, she thought that it was the light-pain. I will repay your sacrifice, Loki-Gabriel. I will bring you back to yourself. I will save you.

The sound of wings. Brahma had stopped chanting. Then there was a sound...a roar of noise that reached inside Kali and threatened to pull her body inside out. She covered her ears and screamed, though she couldn't hear it. Then there was nothing but the sound of her own screaming. She felt hands over her own, hands gently pulling her hands from her ears. "Kali, it's alright..." She looked up into Gabriel's eyes, those mischievous, honey colored eyes. She heard Brahma's joyous laughter and the sound of his small footsteps retreating back through the fire.

Gabriel placed a kiss on each knuckle of the beautiful Hindu goddess. Her eyes watched him, the tracks of liquid on her cheeks drying now that the stressful part was done, her life-debt repaid to the Trickster-Archangel. She kissed him hard and demanding. He returned the heat of the kiss, wrapping her in his newly remade arms. He still felt strange, like his body wasn't quite matched up quite right just yet. That was no reason to leave a lady waiting, though. Especially a lady who'd just gone through all the trouble of bringing him back from the dead.
