The long way home [Open-ish/Incomplete]

Summary: Patro got shot at work and had to get a few stitches.

Briseis couldn't even look at him. If she looked at him, she would hit him, and if she hit him she'd feel guilty--and that was not an option. What in the name of all things sacred did he think he was doing accepting a job that put him at risk over someone who probably deserved to be shot? How could he be so stupid? It was bad enough that he had made himself the #1 target during the war, but to manage it here and now as well? Stepping out of the taxi, she stood taller than perhaps she would usually, shoulders pushed back and hands clasped infront of her--dignified in her quiet rage. It was better than screaming at him in public; not that they'd be in public in a moment, but that really wasn't the point, now, was it?

Brushing a few flyaway strands of hair from her face, she glanced at both men before striding off into the lobby on her own. There was still the chance she might hit Achilles instead--Patroclus had not been the only one to die.

Patroclus made his way after her, silently thanking every god he knew was still on Olympus that Briseis hadn't yelled at him in public--he had half expected her to. It wasn't often that he managed to get both of them so angry at him, though Briseis scared him a bit more. Not that he would ever admit that to anyone. Ever. Not even to Achilles, whom he knew agreed with him deep down inside.

Maybe if he admitted it to her, she wouldn't be as angry? Yeah right. Time to get a new job.

Achilles on the other hand did not know what this whole 'quiet' rage business was all about. When they stepped out of the cab he just sort of glared at Patroclus for a moment. The doctor told them how lucky Patroclus was, the bullet could have easily have hit somewhere more vital.

"What the HELL were you thinking, Patrcolus?!"

Achilles in all of his brilliant glory whacked Patroclus upside the head. That's what pros do when they are lecturing someone who was just in the ER room. But hey, his head wasn't the area that was injured.

"You signed up to be a bodyguard and you didn't even buy yourself a bullet proof vest! THAT"S LIKE A WARRIOR GOING INTO A FIGHT WITHOUT HIS ARMOR. What if the bullet would have hit you some where more vital?! You'd be dead. AGAIN. Gods, you are not going back to that job. No way, no how, never."
