Stay far far away!! You don't want this!!!) Bland food and lots of naps seem to take care of it, but this really really sucks ( Read more... )

*giggle* I still remember how the last turkeys tasted... *drool* mmm December and November... The ritz cracker idea sounds good. As you know, I'm not much of a cook but I think that would go rather well!

I don't make them very often, but you've had my ritz cracker pork chops, right? (it's a secret family recipe...shhhh...don't tell). I think I may have to try it out on a roast chicken first, just to see.

I should be out there in mid- to late October. But, I'm not sure if The Bob would want me around due to my stir-up of the list.

Bob says "Pish posh, you mean we aren't allowed to disagree?"

Actually, these guys are a heritage breed. The last guys we raised were the ones that were so genetically modified they could not breed naturally. *That* tom (December was his name) FILLED my oven completely when he was Quartered!! I could NOT fit him in the oven whole, even if I could have found a pan big enough. By butchering time, it was a mercy killing, since they could barely walk. I swore I would never buy that kind again.

This time around I have 5 Narragansett (3 toms, 2 hens). I'm going to try and breed them and see what happens. 2 of the toms are getting butchered. The one that reaches my chest is the keeper. :)
