Chapter 5: Tasting love
Day offs were surely the best thing in the world! At least, that's what Tora would say. Waking up really late in the morning, preparing your breakfast or lunch as slow as you want, then sitting lazily on the sofa or bed, watching useless shows on TV or reading a newspaper... That's what Tora was doing that morning, well, almost that. Instead of a newspaper he was reading a book and well, it was not exactly peaceful around. There was silence, yeah, but not a relaxing one. And how could he relax when a pair of violet eyes was locked on him all the time? Or at least when the dark-haired man was not paying attention. Every now and then Saga was walking around the house, drinking some milk, cleaning his room, taking a shower, but at all those times he was focusing his stare on the man on the couch. The last week the alien had been behaving strangely, he was too quiet and too shy. Not that Tora minded; it was quite the opposite! The house was calmer now and their arguments fewer. He could even say that Saga was so cute like that, a face he didn't confront often at the other man. A small knot choked his throat and Tora coughed violently, feeling really hot out of the blue. That stupid season and it's
changes!
Soon enough, the dark-haired man stopped being alone on the couch. With small, hesitant moves, Saga slipped into the room and climbed onto the furniture, next to the other man, holding a comic book. After making himself comfortable he opened it and started reading it's
content. Though that was only pretending, as his eyes were escaping out of the lines too easily, looking for words somewhere else. Looking for unspoken words on Tora's face. And Tora was not that stupid to not notice it. Saga was almost drowning him with questions he was not expressing and it was really rare for Saga approaching him that much lately. And the most disturbing was that the blond wouldn't speak first, not before breaking Tora's patience at least, so the taller man decided to make his life easier this time, although he didn't know if the other's questions would help at that.
“What is it?”
Saga twitched and gulped, pretending to be focused on his comic book without any success.
“You know...” he started in a formal tone, “I was checking at my research and... I still have some parts of your character to examine, so... H-Have you ever been with love?”
His last phrase was spoken out in a large breath, words mixing together, but still Tora understood what the other said. He snapped out of his book and jerked instantly to Saga's side, looking at him full in question.
“Does your research have to be that personal? What comes next? My sex life?”
“I'm just doing what I have to, okay?” the blond shouted really close to Tora's ears, making him back off in defense. Saga was too stressed, almost trembling and-was that a blush?
“Just answer my question, or I'll force you to!”
“Oh my God, you were really going to ask me about my sex life...” Tora began but stopped instantly in front of Saga's extremely shy and deadly glare. “Okay, okay! Let's go with the love-thing first and... forget about the other...”He let his head lean back on the couch and closed his eyes, bringing in his mind memories covered in dust, old and forgotten.
“I was once, yeah... There was that guy in high-school, a senior of mine. In fact he was the first man I had feelings for. I was always close to him, but we never got further than that. I never even learned if he swung that way! So, years passed and we kinda lost touch with each other and all I ever felt for him stayed like that, a dream that never became true...”
Tora sighed and opened his eyes, looking at all those questions that still remained inside Saga's eyes.
“After that I've had some relationships from time to time, some serious and some not. But there wasn't that intense feeling and I don't know if there will be ever again. I believe that love is rare, that's why it is so precious...”
Saga nodded with a thoughtful expression, working in his mind the details he received. “And...” a shyness was drawn on his features, “How does it feel? Love?”
Tora paused to think it over, recalling all the things that were once making his feelings for that man love. “It's... strange... It can make you fly up in the sky one moment only to drown you in deep sorrow the next. When you love you become a giver, offering everything you have to see that special 'someone' smile, but you are possessive at the same time, keeping your treasure away from foreign eyes. The beats of your heart are so fast that you think you are going to die, but you don't care. You can't care when everything you want is there, with you, in your arms. The touch is like small electroshocks, your breath hitches, you cannot hear or see. Yet, you
feel more alive than never before in your life. You feel strong, sure, like you own the whole world! You feel-”
He stopped as his eyes were locked on Saga's sight. He smiled, because he knew what the other was trying to do. With eyes closed, sprawling on the couch, his hands slowly embracing himself. Saga wanted to imagine every small detail from the images Tora was describing to him. To make all those wonderful feelings move into his skin, mix with his blood, reach his heart and make it pump harder. His lips were slightly parted to breathe deeply, hitching, like he would do if he was in love. But all that silence stopped the blond's imagination, so he soon came to his senses, opening his eyes and looking at Tora suspiciously.
“You feel...?”
Tora's brain was numb from what he was witnessing. Moments ago the man beside him was standing still, yet his lithe figure were full of emotions, his eyelids trembling at the visions he had, the veins of his neck throbbing thirstily. A person craving for love, that's what Saga was. And that side of his was amazing the dark-haired man.
“Uh...” he started dumbfounded, “and other sparkling stuff...” he coughed, finally moving his eyes away. “Why are you curious anyway? Don't you have any other feelings except ecology on your planet? Everyone must have been in love, at least once...”
“I am studying people now!” the alien snapped sharply as he stood up. “I am going to prepare for the evening!”
“Don't delay in the bathroom, I need to use it too!”
Tora's words were lost in the air as Saga never answered back. The dark-haired man shook his head in disbelief. How could Saga be so angry when he was so calm and astonishing moments ago? And all that behavior was filling him with questions about the alien. Was Saga longing that much for love? Was his heart that thirsty for intense feelings? All those were torturing his mind, but he decided not to think anymore. He was about to go out at night and he needed to
prepare for it! Along with not thinking about the other man like that...

For one more time Saga's eyes fell on the same display, although he wanted to prevent that. But how could he when Shou and Hiroto were kissing so shamelessly? Well, shameless was not the right word... Sweet? Tender? Passionate? Yeah, those words fit better. The way they were closing their eyes, touching each other, smiling after parting, all those looked so wonderful. And all those were feelings Saga wanted to taste too. He surely had some experiences back home but he never fell 'in love'. He never reacted like Shou and Hiroto did, or as Tora had described to him. And he was fine with it, but a phrase was torturing him since that afternoon.
Everyone must have been in love at least once...
Saga snorted and moved his eyes from the couple to Tora, who was drinking spaced out. For a reason he kept looking at him till the dark-haired man gave back the same stare, so someone should back out. Saga did, moving his eyes away, disturbed for no reason and shot a glare at his
filled drink. They were out to have fun, right? So, he was not going to ruin their cause at the bar. He took the glass in his hands and swallowed all of it's content in three big gulps. Shou was always saying that drinking helps your mood go up and forget all of your problems for a while, and the blond wanted to give that theory a try.

“It's so unfair~, I really don't understand this world, Torashi~”
Saga kept laughing and swirling in Tora's grip, pulling him here and there as they both stepped inside the house. That night's trademark was the restless drinking, dirty, really dirty teasing to Shou and Hiroto and curses to life, that was always a bitch. Saga was broke, he had no sense after the first hour in the bar and the bottles of beer kept gathering at his side. Not that everyone else was better. Hiroto wanted to dance on the chair but Shou prevented that, snatching his lover and escaping home as soon as he felt rather hot and pervy. And Tora soon came to accompany his alien friend, imagining all the dirty stuff the other two would do on bed, if they could ever manage to reach it, of course. The result? For many days after they kept
wondering how on earth they managed to return home by car, without getting killed!
“Can't you stand still for a bit? You daze me!” Tora was less hyper than Saga, sleepy and ready to throw up on the blond, if he was going to continue dancing around like that.
“No, I can't!” the totally drunk man said in a singing voice, rolling around and finally escaping Tora's grip. The dark-haired man was too tired to chase after him, so he just watched Saga with half-lidded eyes, running around and hissing in pain as he was stumbling into objects on his way, till he plopped finally on the couch, crossing his arms in a whining manner.
“It's really so unfair, Tora, gee! Everyone has been in love except me! Hiroto, Shou, even you, a stupid ass! Hahah!”
“Oh shut up! I can hear you! You see?” Tora pointed his hands on his ears, showing them boringly to the other.
Saga burst out laughing, his legs hitting repeatedly the floor. “You see~? You are sooo stupid Tora!”
“Whatever...” the taller man mumbled grumpily. “Let's go to sleep now, alright?”
Ignoring Saga's protests and resistances he pulled him up, enclosed him in his embrace and almost dragged him to his bedroom. His steps were small and slow, or they would both fall down in the first limping.
“Stop!” Saga commanded Tora as they reached the room, close enough to the bed, next to the still opened window. “My-my stomach is messy again, I need air!”
The other man obeyed, stopping and moving Saga closer to the window, to take all the fresh air he wanted. The blond alien sighed, the air seemed to calm him down. He was not smiling anymore, a small pout was resting on his lips instead, sweet and childish.
“But it's really bad, even for you, Torashi...”
Tora turned to the side, holding Saga tight to prevent him falling out of the window, he was leaning too much!
“All the time people meet other people, they fall in love, they experience the wonder and curse at the same time... But you are alone, you don't say it, but you feel lonely, right? You might be strong and independent, but that doesn't mean that you don't need a hand to hold or an embrace to surround you. A warmth to feel beside you when you wake up... As of me... I-I don't know what I do wrong... I know am silly and clumsy and well, really messed up, but is it that hard to
find someone and have feelings for? Stupid people fall in love, bad people fall in love, cats and dogs fall in love! Why must I be an exception? That pisses me off! I want to experience extreme happiness and sorrow, I don't care if I end up hurt, I just want to feel as everyone else and even more!”
Tora's hazel eyes grew large, large enough to imprint in them that serious and troubled face. Though Saga was not kidding, the dark-haired man couldn't prevent a small and drunken laugh as he brought the taller man closer, to keep him safe and move him to sleep with the first chance.
“You only think the bad side of things, Sagacchi!” he laughed again as the other looked at him curiously. “Look how I see things, silly UFO!”
Saga tilted his head up, to examine the face across to him as the other man began his analysis.
“We are lucky for not having love in our lives! It's the truth! Shou and Hiroto, look at them! All lovey dovey and other sweet stuff, but when the fights start it won't be like that, trust me! We are alone and maybe we miss some touch but think, there's no whining, jealousy, backstabs and difficult break-ups! We can have fun without all those, without love!”
Both of them giggled and Saga started his flail dance again, til he got dizzy again and grabbed the figure in front of him tightly, trying to balance himself.
“Don't you dare puke on me!” Tora warned in a threatening voice, though the way he pulled the blond man closer and kept him in his arms was not threatening at all.
“Nah, I won't silly!” the alien mumbled quietly and let Tora's hands guide him closer to the latter's body, resting his head at the taller man's chest, breathing softly to calm his swirling stomach down. “And I think you are right...” he added in muffling sounds, giving tickles to Tora's torso. “Maybe love is just a stupid, romantic thing, maybe it doesn't even exist...” He raised up his blond head to face Tora, but the only thing he could see from that angle was the man's jaw. The dark-haired man looked down, smiling at that soft and drunken face. “Maybe we are indeed lucky, having no feelings to hold us back in anything...” Saga's head moved a bit more upwards, inviting Tora's one to lower some more and rest his forehead on the other's.
“Hmmm, I agree...” Tora sighed tiredly, nuzzling his nose against Saga's. “No one needs that bullshit anyway...”
The blond alien nodded, too tired to react or speak anymore. It was a strange feeling, really. Outside he was numb, still like a puppet, like his body was not his anymore. He couldn't even take his eyes away from those dark from the night orbs, that pale, glistening skin in the moonlight. On the inside though things were out of control. His blood was boiling, his heart was bumping like crazy. He was filled with that intoxicated smell, Tora's scent mixed with his perfume, a smell that was poisoning him. It was drugging his mind so bad, making it unable to think as he moved even closer, sniffing and tasting Tora's breath on his lips.
“You are right...” he repeated, his lips sightly curved in a smile, trembling as they were parting slowly, in an attempt to nibble those well shaped lips across from him, only to hesitate and avert them back shyly. “It's better to never fall in love I guess...”
“Hmm, yeah...” The wild dance of Saga's lips continued, only this time it was not a lone dance. Tora was also in the game, making small and shy moves, leaving aerial touches on the other's flesh and then pulling away. But that slight touch felt good, he didn't know exactly how to
describe it, but it was soft, gentle, pure even. And he wanted to play this game more. His heart was beating full of life after so many years, it was blooming beautifully, like a flower. He was dazed from sensations and emotions he had thought lost.
“I think we are... very... dr-drunk...” the dark-haired man whispered as he was caressing Saga's lips with care.
“We surely are...” the other agreed, pulling away to look at Tora's hazel eyes.
And then, right when their eyes locked, something changed. Words like drunk or crazy stopped having power on them as they were standing so close to each other, looking all honest and sober. A hesitating, trembling hand climbed up Saga's face, resting for mere moments on
his fevered cheek before it rubbed out some mere strands of blond hair. They were beautiful, yes, but right then they were preventing Tora from seeing that face clearly. The shadows created by the golden locks were darkening it's beauty and he didn't want that. Saga's eyes
were not cloudy from the alcohol anymore. They were big, thrilled and ready to save all the images they were going to receive from that moment and after. Knots, gulps, coughs, all of them and even more were nestling in their throats as they both in unison opened their mouths but never spoke. They stood still, like every clock in that world broke and time froze. Only breaths were coming out. Breaths small, quick and hot. They were afraid to move, to continue what they started. And then Tora shook his head, finally realizing what he was doing.
“We'd better go to sleep now, or we'll never wake up tomorrow...”
His words were getting more and more quiet as his lips touched Saga's again, this time more confidently. He was shocked by his own organism, a puppet moving without the need of some strings. Because that's what was happening. The strings wanted to pull his body away from the blond, to put him to sleep and then walk out of the room at the tips of his toes. Instead, the body was moving closer and closer, locking the other man between his arms, feeling his warmth and that heartbeat, as hard and rapid as his own.
Saga was surprised too. He let himself surrender at the magic of this moment, he closed his eyes and let all of his other senses take over, tasting Tora's sweet mouth, smelling his scent, listening to his breath shaking, touching his face and neck as they kept losing themselves in that drug, their drug. They were parting only to breathe, to look at each other and realize that this was not a drunken night's illusion. All that was real, a real kiss made by real feelings. With slow, blind moves they reached Saga's bed, where they both laid down, never parting completely or stopping the discovery of their bodies. Small caresses, light nibblings, shaking sighs. Afraid of themselves, put under a spell called 'heavy drinking'. Or, did it have another name?
But they were too confused to answer, and too occupied. They never stopped showing affection till sleep came for them, leaving them hugging each other close, their lips still touching slightly...
