I've recently found myself in the care of a small bird-- a goldfinch, to be more precise.

Unfortunately, taking care of pets is... not my area of expertise. Would anyone kindly offer their advice?

I'm no expert on birds, but it seems you've been getting a lot of advise already as to their care. If you should have questions, I know that Kaito has hand-reared several doves, so he's intimately familiar with their care.

He can hardly boast that he loves me. I just met him.

I didn't say it was rational. I just said that's probably what he thinks about you. It's going to be difficult to rebuff his amorous intentions if your previous execution didn't make your point clear enough.
