Hey, look, it's me

There's probably lots of just normal news that I could cover in this entry, but instead I'm just going to more or less say that I'm alive and doing well. I love Paula and she loves me and I don't have anything looming over me threatening to take my life away. So. That's really all that I need to be quite content with my life. At least not after a year of being one of 'em normal Ministers. Now I'm too tired to want power and control. Give me a mint-addicted ferret and a galley, 's all I ask...

*chuckles* I need to poke you about Things Sometime. Stop intimidating me whenever I see your name.

But but but I can only RP well with bitchy power-hungry characters...

Which is a strand of RP that's exhausted rather quickly...

And now we know why I don't RP anymore. Alas.

Bitchy power-hungry characters don't necessarily need to have any power to be played well though. If anything, it makes them all that much more fascinating to watch if they have a slow, gradual ascent to power with many setbacks. And there's nothing that would really stop characters from holding Ministries in the GM-paradigm - it would just take a lot longer time and development.

Hence, you'd start out with all the captains, ministers, faction leaders, first mates, etc as NPCs and over the course of a year or so, there might be captains. But possibly only on two or three of the ships. The fourth ship might be pushing along with more of umbrella of good RPers, but no clear leader character amongst them. Etc.

Well, they already expect Ministers to "run plots", as that's what gets you promoted beyond anything else ... so why not go to a paradigm that works better for running plots?
