Okay, it's only one and half weeks till the final act of BSG begins and already I can't contain excitement. So I'm celebrating the TEN DAYS countdown to new BSG with a list/picspam of my 12 favourite BSG moments; one for each of the 12 colonies of Kobol and the (soon to be) 12 cylon models.

This is an awesome list. You've seen mine, and I was sitting there reading yours going 'I wish I'd thought of that one. I wish I'd thought of THAT one. Oh, man, I really wish I'd thought of that one!' Can't argue with a single one of them!

And the reason so many people use Exodus II as their favorite is because it was PURE AWESOME! :)

It was your list that inspired me to pick out my own favourite moments. Still, there was a lot of favourites I left out - like I couldn't choose between Gaetas and Tighs heroic airlock moments so I left both off. Also moments like Boomer shooting Adama which are so shockingly memorable, but that kinda goes without saying. Also I'm sure I have more favs from S1 and the mini-season, but it's so long since I watched them - memory is failing me! My favourite ep after Exodus-II is probably 33.

Yeah- way too many good moments!!!

One of the frustrations I had about the article I was writing was the forum I was writing it for. I HAD to mention the big moments (or Al had to), and so I had to skip some moments I like better personally (Gaeta's airlock scene comes to mind ;) ) because they didn't quite fit the article.

Plus, the truth is, it's much easier to pick out the moments I didn't like because they stand out more and there are fewer of them. But if I'd written that article a few days later, I would have included Gaeta kissing the Eight after he told her he had someone in the webisodes as a moment I did not like. ::grumbles::

Ten days! Whoohoo!!!

My least favourite scenes would include so much of Razor, especially the insanely OOC moment when Lee casually orders Kara on a suicide mission and Adama says nothing. I also hated the moment when Adama threatens to shoot Cally. Yes, I know, they were trying to show how serious a mutiny is and how everything falls apart if the crew refuses to follow orders, etc, but I still hated it. My other least favourite moment would have to be the Baltar/D'Anna/Six torture porn scene. *ahem* Keep your warped S&M fantasies to yourselves BSG writers. That was cringeworthy to watch.

Thanks pace. I can't believe there's only 10 days to go. I haven't seen webisode 9 or 10 either, but I really can't wait for the new eps.

The writing in 4.0 was very rich and mature. At times I got annoyed by the pace of S4 and felt like certain storylines were dragging and over-emphasised (i.e. crazy Starbuck). But you're right that the writing is outstanding this season, so full of depth and philosophy, you can really soak it up on a second viewing. Adama has really been breaking my heart in S4. Well, they all have.

but I'll admit that I got a tear in my eye when it becomes clear that Lee has never stopped feeling guilty about the Olympic Carrier
I know! Oh Lee and his uplifting yet totally self-loathing monologue.

Cool choices, and I agree that "Fragged" is a very underrated episode! I love it.

I remember that 'Fragged' was one of the first eps that I really started to love the Baltar/Head!Six ship ("Now you're a man" - she chills me!)

You're from Yorkshire? Cool. I'm a little way South from you in Cheshire but I've got friends from Yorkshire. Baltar is mean to your accent. I love your scrapey consonants!

Great list! In terms of lightness, I love, love the toilet scene. In terms of darkness, The death of Ellen Tigh tops it for me. I also loved Fragged. I agree it will be really hard to top the New Caprica rescue.

The only thing I disagree with is the trial. I found everything to do with Romo and Apollo cringe worthy in its excess.

I would add to the list Roslin almost letting Gaius die after his confession on the Cylon ship, Apollo and Starbuck clinging to each other after their boxing match, Starbuck and Six fighting over the arrow, Roslin ripping up her cue cards and giggling with Adama before her debate, and Six and Sharon clutching hands, and promising to be nice to humans in the parking garage, and Helo and Boomer’s short lived joy when Hera was born. (Sorry, I don’t know any episode titles.)

I love those moments too! Even the Starbuck/Six girl-fight which is such a fanboyish thing for me to enjoy. And despite my dislike for the Starbuck and Apollo cheating on their spouses story, the boxing match moment got to me too.

Roslin's little giggle fit is enchanting (I could do a whole other list of favourite Roslin moments and lines!)

Oh, the Helo/Sharon scenes over Hera's birth and "death" really upset me. It just makes me shudder to think how many new parents must have been through that same thing and never get to see their child out of the incubator.

I found everything to do with Romo and Apollo cringe worthy in its excess.

Yup, we'll have to agree to disagree on that one! Romo is the first character who managed to make me interested in Lee, but I know it's a love or hate it issue with fans.
