When the voiceover came on, I thought it was the police outside, seriously! Spooky.

Poor kids. Odds were never in their favor. And nope, I don't believe their happily ever after. This was more real for them. :-)

Thanks daybreak! You know, I’ve never been a hardcore Hunger Games fan but when I was watching Mockingjay pt2 last month, this song was echoing through my mind whenever Katniss and Peeta were on screen together. The song inspired me to make this tribute to their relationship, which to my mind is not a romance but the story of two people bonding over an extraordinary mutual trauma. Two people thrust into a coercive relationship who develop co-dependency as a survival mechanism, who seek comfort in each other and find love with one another, but is that love the one prize they win from their shared ordeal or is it their ultimate submission to the totalitarian forces who commodified and propagandized their love before it could be realized through sincere intimacy? Love is not supposed to feel like this. Victory is not supposed to conquer you like this. That’s what the song ‘Hallelujah’ has always meant to me - a love song that is raging over the false triumphalism of all our traditional love songs

!!!!!! I love everything this chooses to be. And "Hallelujah" is such an inspired choice. You captured in visuals all my Katniss/Peeta feelings (which basically amount to what you said in your comment above--the fact that their ~endgame~ is so NOT a happily ever after but a hollow victory... is actually exactly why I find the relationship so compelling). Perfect miserable dystopian anti-romantic codependence. ♥

"Hollow victory" is the perfect way to describe Katniss/Peeta and the very damaged haunted relationship that Snow left them with. Thanks so much for watching and responding. Glad u liked it.
