John Simm...Time/Space Cowboy
Oh, it's great to have found some new John Simm fans this year! Simm is my oldest TV boyfriend. He's practically my TV hubby. I've loved him since I was about 10 and he appeared in a naff little sitcom called Men of the World, playing a whiny nancyboy called Kendal who needed to be taught how to be a man. Ha!! Yes, I've ( Read more... )

Pleased you liked it!

Cracker was an acclaimed Brit TV show. There might be downloads posted somewhere. The Simm ep is called Best Boys. It's definitely one of his more interesting early roles. Bill Nash is an insane little monster.

Oh, very nice!!!! If I had requested something, that would be it!!! I really like those Cracker and Canturbury Tales clips, I wish I could see the episodes (I tried without much success). Same with Crime and Punishment *sigh*. (But I just found Sex Traffic at amazon.ca!!!!!! yay!!!!!)

What amazes me in his performance is how different his characters feel. For example, there was this scene is State of Play where Philip Glenister (who plays a DCI) shares a scene with Simm and even though I *knew* it was the same actors that played Sam and Gene, I just didn't feel like it was the same people, you know? I don't know how he does that, looking and feeling so different in each of his projects.

Oh, and you have got to see State of Play!!!! What are you waiting for??? That's my favorite project with him after Life on Mars.

It's so true about Simm's diversity. He can play really sweet good-hearted everyman characters (like his role in Sex Traffic) or he can play evil psychopaths. And I really enjoy him as both!

Yeah, I need to get State of Play on DVD. If nobody gets it me for Xmas I'll order it myself. I've worked out that it aired when I was in my last year of college and I didn't have a TV. I didn't get it at first because the premise didn't sound very exciting, but after all your recs I'll have to try it!

Enjoy the vids! The first ep of The Lakes is loooong. Almost movie length. Though beware, cos it ends on a cliffhanger of doom. Yeah, I'm taking the State of Play advice ASAP.

Happy Hanukka, pace!
