I loved the juxtapositioning in the first scene back to Fire+Water! Go you! Your description of Charlie through Desmond's eyes was just heartbreaking. I just can't imagine the Charlie we know being quiet and meek and sitting all by himself and crying but it really works in this because he's been through this awful awful experience that hurt him so badly that even though he can't remember it, it still pains him. It's just such a powerful thing and you've written it beautifully.
Love how Claire is jealous of Desmond getting too close to Charlie - it's always nice to see her as being the clingy one instead of Charlie in fic and you did that nice and subtley in this.
Claire returned to her shelter, climbing into left side of the bed so that she lay between Charlie and Aaron. She took hold of Charlie’s hand and held it close to her chest. - *death by cute* this reminds me a little bit of that moment in "One Of Us" where they're all asleep together holding hands. They're just....guh. Perfect use of body language.

I think Charlies fears over Aaron has two levels. One there are his scary dreams, two there are his faint memories of Jacobs plan to take Aarons life. So he is just really confused and distressed - angst intensified!
Yeah, I think Jack would go mad at Desmond if he knew about the flashes. Jack doesn't believe in fate, destiny, etc. He would think Des brainwashed Charlie.
I tried to make the end with Locke/Charlie a bit F&W too. Except that Charlie doesn't punch Locke. He just uses his vicious little mouth. Beat down by snark!
Thanks again!

Locke was a fav of mine too (in S1 at least). I even forgave him for whacking Sayid over the head, but the Boone thing was...sinister. I mean, he saw a vision of Boone cover in blood and just lead him into the jungle and told him to climb up to the unstable plane (kinda like Des leading Charlie to the arrow trap, huh?) And lying to Jack about his injuries was just...grrr.
Hehe! In my personal canon Charlie always lives and gets a hug. I'm so glad you liked the way I wrote Des and Charlie. They are my boys!

S1 Locke. Oh I missed that. Walkabout was great, IMHO. With Boone I never got around to hate his guts even if I should have.

Agreed on both things. And you're right, about the arrow! It didn't come to me before. But alas, Des in the end did the right thing, not much use but hell, hey, Locke? Learn!
Well the Des and Charlie love really comes out of this, and personal canon is always better than actual canon ;)
