Oh, Stephen.
*hugs him*

So I found the beginning of this story a long, long time ago when I was going through the community archives and loved it, but then it went away for a while. Now that it is back however, I could not be more happy.
Fucking stunning and suspenseful and GAH. I love it. :D

Great job!

Hee, I think this is the first time I've seen "Oh, Stephen" in response to real!Stephen.

And thank you! Glad you like.

I just want to know what the heck is going on. It's freaking scary that you haven't exactly spelled it out. Like I'm still waiting for the guy in the mask to make an appearance so I know he's there and I can yell at the characters for not seeing him, but still shriek when he pops up and starts killing people.
And poor Stephen for having to go through all this.

I can't wait for the end.

The next part is more of an epilogue, so I don't know if it'll give you the closure you're looking for. But I guess we'll see!

Is the "guy in the mask" thing just a metaphor, or do you mean the story reads like it could be a physical person instead of a ghost?

We'll have to see then. I'll ask you questions if there's something I don't get.

And that's a metaphor for the most part. I think it would be hard for a real person to be doing everything that happened. I was mostly just comparing the story to most horror movies I've seen.

I'm loving the dynamic of Jon as the stern boss and poor, poor Stephen. I swear that there is a ghost or some negative energy and it, if even barely, is possessing him.

“I don't. If I did I would've taken you off the show. I think you're stressed. And that's all,” Jon said with finality, getting up. “Let everyone know they're moving. End of story.”

The desk lamp hit the wall and the bulb shattered. Jon scrambled backwards so quickly that his chair fell over. He looked from the broken lamp back to Stephen through the sudden dark and their eyes locked. Stephen felt such terrible loathing. His fingernails tore into the arms of his chair and his head felt hot, like it was boiling, about to burst, and he snarled, “This building will burn to the ground before I leave.”

Jon didn't say anything, didn't move at first. Then he carefully extended his hand. “I think,” he said, “we should go for a walk.”I'm sure Stephen would be protective of his work, but he's a good guy, hands down, and would be concerned for other's safety. And I love how ( ... )

Well, the solution of sorts is in the next part, but I don't think it will hold all the answers. I personally dislike when horror stories tie everything up all neatly at the end.

I like the drama in that while Jon and Stephen are friends, Jon is still his superior in terms of production. He has obligations and responsibilities he needs to fulfill, and he has to find a balance between that and his relationship with his staff/coworkers.

I swear that there is a ghost or some negative energy and it, if even barely, is possessing him.

You're right; this is absolutely what's going on. I cannot picture Stephen behaving this way otherwise.

Chapter 11 is definitely not the best thing to have on the brain when trying to enjoy a taping! I'm sort of honored that you thought of the story, though? lol
