Stephen hadn't texted him since last night, when he had demanded that Jon make sure not to smile or look him directly in the eyes at the restaurant, and would not talking to him be too much to ask? The text had soon been followed by another in which Stephen took everything back and begged to be forgiven. Jon had just sent one reply: “Goodnight, babe. See you tomorrow.”
Poor baby. At this point Jon probably waits an hour before taking anything he says too seriously.
“Jon is right. It’s true that I’d rather be at home watching the new coat of paint in the nursery dry, but I recognize the importance of spending several hours listening to the writers dithering through their brainstorming sessions.”
Nice going, Sam. I like how nonchalantly she banters with Jon.
“I do not have a vacant stare. That comment was ageist.”

This duo in general is pretty perfect :D
I'm glad their characterizations work; I had a bit of a problem with it.
I like the methodical way the "bomb scare" plays out. It feels very grounded, even in the in-character universe where half the time reality is doing its own surreal thing.
That reality is such a gift when it comes to situations like these, because you don't have to spend any time researching real life security protocols at televison studios.

Yep, Crowder HATES Jon, and that's canon. Not that I think he would kidnap someone to get revenge, but it does make him a perfect villain.
