I am also having fun picturing the situation where George Bush has to decide how to handle his aide being turned into a horse. Someone from the NSA brought in a dangerous experiment? Somebody else attempting to practice a magic spell? "Mr. Presdient, this would be a scandal if it got out." Haha

Well, to be fair he handled it as ethically as he could imagine. He made Stephen out to be of good breeding and gave him to one of his buddies.

(This is lovely, is there going to be more? Maybe? At all?)

All Jon's tender and constant reassurances are very sweet. And Stephen harumphing after dumping him on a pile of hay, aww. I like that Precious doesn't really get broken in, just warms up to Jon enough to be sent home with him.
Love the twist. My impression was that Stephen had been reincarnated somehow rather than transformed, because of the "time when you were born" part, plus the assumption that he would have made some un-horselike communication attempts if he could. Definitely feels like "a horse with Stephen's soul" rather than "human Stephen in a horse body."
Of course any version of Stephen ends up jealously demanding Jon's attention :3
Adorable ending. Now Precious can live happily ever after. Even if he is too old for dressage.

That's a perfect analysis. And Jon is okay with that. <3
Precious doesn't remember being human, although he can understand English and has all these human feelings.
Precious has a happy, lazy existence ahead of him. Sure, he'll never be a dressage horse but Jon will plait his mane and braid his tail sometimes anyway so that he will feel pretty. And occasionally he will let himself be ridden.
I'm glad you liked it! <3

That's a backstory for Precious I can get behind.
Having his mane and tail braided is probably Precious' favorite thing ever. I hope Jon in his various horse-care attempts stumbles upon that idea soon.
