Poor, apprehensive Stephen. I felt for him during the dinner conversation, it's always so awkward when people either actually are ganging up on you or you feel like they are.

And much as I agree with nearly everything political that Jon's family stands for, I did also find the whole bit about his dad very interesting, and the fact that he and Stephen could sympathize and bond with each other over how problematic Jon's family can be sometimes like that was touching. As was the bit with them laying together listening to that song-anytime I hear it now I'll think of that scene.

This was sweet, and the ending makes me definitely want to see the reverse of this now.

Thank you! I really tried to write Stephen's encounter with Jon's parents as awkward and uncomfortable as possible, then having them come to some kind of an understanding and acceptance in the end. I'm so glad that you enjoyed it, and pleased that Jon and Stephen's little moment of cuteness replays when you hear that song! :)

This is a really great fic. There is so much tension in the house you could cut it with a knife.
