if your costume was simply "smoke," how would you make it apparent to others? what materials would you use?

I'd probably do the conceptual arty route and make a sheer, floaty, pale-grey flapper dress with accents in slightly darker grey; grayish (not quite corpsey) makeup with lots of black eyeshadow and a long cigarette holder. and then float around blowing smoke rings.

(or you could just paint yourself swirly grey!)

Lots of grey and white tulle. Also, attach mirrors of different shapes and sizes, and be "smoke and mirrors"

"smoke and mirrors" is actually the premise we were shooting for- i was gonna be "mirrors" and my partner was gonna be "smoke." but we got lazy and decided to be "peas & carrots" instead :)
