More like "I'd hate to be some poor office dweller scared out of my goddamn mind for a few hours because the initial reports were so light on detail and conducive to fear." The CN marketers won't be facing a lawsuit, law enforcement just has to talk tough right now since they were fooled/scared into wasting a day on this shit.

If "suspicious packages" we are to fear include decoration of a Mooninite flipping you off, I think it behooves reporters to show us a picture or at least mention that. Did police just blow up each one of these things without even looking at them? Is "anti-terrorism tech" to just blow shit up and see if the explosion is the size you wanted it to be or bigger? My confidence in their methods shaken.

I don't see how the CN marketers won't be facing a lawsuit, unless there's some sort of permit filed away in a cabinet that someone forgot about. These things were secretly placed on bridges and other heavily trafficked areas. Even if they're just little LED boxes or whatever, I think that's a pretty stupid thing to do ( ... )

I personally though this whole ordeal was hilarious. From the first "BREAKING NEWS OMG LOLOLOL" this afternoon, I somehow felt this was nothing to be worried about.

I wasn't expecting something as bass-ackwards as this. It's glorious!

They really looked like Lite-Brites with a battery pack attached to them, from what I could see. Of course, this is after not having ANY pictures of them shown on the news here, but having them go "THESE PACKAGES ARE ALSO IN OTHER MAJOR CITIES, INCLUDING NEW YORK!!! OMGOMGOMGOMG!!" So they were saying "We have suspicious packages here in NYC but we won't tell you what you should look for." The only description we got were that they "had wires coming out of them and exposed circuitry." This was after 6 PM. By this time, there had already been press conferences and press releases. Go figure.
