So I might take a semester off? I'm playing with the idea in my head. It's ridiculous that I even thought of it, because I thought college would be easier than how it's turning out to be, but my parents have no grasp of the financial seriousness and aren't really meeting me up half way even. Unsolicited advice ahead!!! ^^;

There's a lot of ways you can stay in school on loan money, which is expensive but sometimes (unfortunately) the only option. Another is that if you're working enough, you can usually get a tuition installment plan -- I know a lot of people (my sister, for instance, and one of my friends from high school) who make tuition in $400-$800 chunks. Which is still disgusting, but a possibility.

If school is for you, I suggest fighting to stay because it's so easy to never go back. And as for home problems -- if they are yours, take them, but bear in mind that you cannot fix everything for your family. Believe me; sometimes you gotta let people do things their own, for good or ill.
