Wolverine and Jubilee #1...

Remember Jubilee? She used to be a great kid. Turned up back in 1989 in X-Men as a smart'n'sassy Los Angeles teen mutant 'mall rat', which confused me a little because I'd never heard the term before. She teamed up with Wolverine a lot and they had some wild adventured, Batman and Robin style.

"Different people, different situations, different kinds of help" might explain Logan's thinking re: Laura and Jubilee. I doubt he'd explain it any further than that. The detailed explanations he'd leave to either Emma or pre-sociopathic days Leonard Samson.

Well, deep introspection isn't Wolvie's best thing. I didn't know, or had forgotten, that Samson was sociopathic these days. How and when did that happen?

I think Wolvie has lost so many people that he's skittish about being involved (especially in a parental way) or getting too close. He fears that people he is close to will die, especially if they are young and female.

Number 1 depends on the fanbase the comic is trying to appeal to. For me Jubilee is the closest thing Logan has ever had to a daughter (her and Kitty)

I'm not too bothered about X-23 myself. I know she is a very popular character but still very new whereas the Logan/Jubilee fanbase (like myself) has been around since the old 80s X-men cartoon etc.

I always loved the relationship between Wolverine and Jubilee, however it might be described.

I like the idea of X-23, but I've yet to see a really good story featuring her. Which I think is a pity. I didn't expect Jubilee's story -a vampire story, yet - to be so much more interesting.

I'm still surprised they have used Jubilee at all, after they depowered her I assumed that was it for her. I was really put off by the vampire thing, I liked her (kinda lame) powers and don't care for vampires but I'm happy to say so far it looks like I was wrong about this one.

That was my feeling exactly. I've always liked Jubilee - but it's so long since we've seen her in any significant way, I thought they were sidelining her for good. I suppose I should have known better. But I was not happy when they put her in a vampire story - not happy at all. I almost didn't get this title. And now it turns out to be good! Who could have known?
