I decided that to make this list manageable, I'd pick characters from TV shows. There are many whose look I don't like: I don't generally like the Doctor's fashion sense, for example. Eleven almost had it, but blew it with the blow tie. Nine looked good, but not striking - no, that's wrong, he was striking, but it was his presence, not his clothes, and not the way he wore them. Clark Kent's farmboy fashions didn't impress me. Dean Winchester's cowboy non-chic has a certain charm. Then there's the Trenchoat Brigade: John Constantine, Castiel, Columbo - what, do they all start with a C? I agree about Dean's cowboy non-chic has a certian charm but it's nothing to write home about in my books. I find Castiel's look very sexy but the clothing themselves aren't that wonderful. Somehow on the character they are better. This is hard to explain. LOL a the trenchoat Brigade all starting with 'C ( ... )

But I feel the same way. In character as Castiel the look has a certain flair. It didn't have the same flair when he was Jimmy. Now, that's acting!

I don't watch Veronica Mars but man does she have great clothing!

It was, particularly in first season, a brilliant show. Beautifully written. Reminiscent of Josh Whedon, but without his flaws or excesses.

Man it's so sexy and cool looking.

He wears it well, but that isn't difficult. It's got style, it's classic, it's in character, it's sexy, it's fun.

Even if I had Inara's figure, no, I wouldn't wear the burgundy dress. She makes it look spectacular.

I want to do this meme but I don't even know where to start

Too many fandoms; yes, it's a problem! I'd like to see you try, though.

I remember discussing with my BFF as a teenager how all the characters we had crushes on wore long coats... I don't think I can remember who they all were now but there was definitely Highlander involved and I think Kiefer Sutherland in The Lost Boys. We'd watch things and just go 'Long coat!' at each other whenever one appeared. And then later on there are Angel and Spike and Jack Harkness and Tenth Doctor, and I'm pretty sure Arthur has one in Merlin... it's a definite theme!

(Of course, it also enables viewers to play the secret HL crossover game where any character in a long coat is actually an Immortal and hiding a sword in there.)

Long coats are wonderful things. Yes, including in Highlander. One of the few things I miss about the Tenth Doctor is his long coat. I should make a "long coat" picspam page - that would be fun. The ten best guys in long coats. Who else? Gambit, of course.

I have no doubt that characters in long coats are Immortals with hidden swords. Isn't Captain Jack living [forever] proof?

Now I'm seeing a Capt. Jack/Firefly crossover. *shoos plot-bunny your way*

I wish I could pretend I whipped this story up in moments at your request, but no, I've already written it. Jack/Mal - how could I resist?

See my story Time Figitive. It was written after season 1 of Doctor Who and before Torchwood began.

This makes me realize that I don't have my fic site linked to my LJ pages. Must rectify that.

My Bodie-radar works. Slowly - but it works! :-)

I'm happy that you haven't forgotten Pros, among all those other 'young guys'! ;-)

But as much as I remember Bodie has nerver worn jeans - not that I would complain about his tight corduroy trousers - but jeans would have been the 'cherry on the ice cake' (ahem - I've forgotten the proper saying...).

(Do you really like the grey jacket????)

Oh dear, that must be my bad memory at work - but I think you're right, Doyle wore the jeans, Bodie wore tight dark trousers. Of course I should watch the whole series again, being particularly careful to keep my eyes on Bodie's trousers, just to check it out. Important research.

No, I'll never forget Pros. I was making a plan last night to start putting more of my Pros fic online. Starting - well, today if I can find the time; otherwise tomorrow.

No, I didn't like the grey jacket, it was incredibly ugly, but it sort of grew on my like lichen as a sort of Bodie symbol. There was even something a little tough/threatening in its plainness. It was ugly, but it was Bodie's, and it seemed to suit a certain side of him.

Or maybe I just got insanely sentimental over anything he wore.

For further 'trouser investigations' you should start with Rogue!

Do beaming smiles hurdle the distance from Cologne to Ottawa? :-)
That would be great!

And that 'insanely sentimental' is very much likely! He IS such a darling... :-)

Oh, yes, that's a good one.

Thanks for the encouragement and moral support. It's a daunting job, but I do want to do it.

He IS such a darling... :-)

I certainly think so!
