I went to a noontime yoga class at Adishesha Yoga Zone today. It was superb. I was most impressed with the teacher, Basia Going, and plan to go back for another class on Thursday. I emerged from the class feeling both relaxed and energized - which is exactly how I should feel. And it's a sign that my back is much better ( Read more... )

Yay for the successful pimping! Heh, and there I was pimping it to you yesterday, quite unnecessarily. *g*

iclysdale got there before you, bringing over a copy of the first episode a couple of months ago. I was hooked, and thought maaseru and explodedteabag would appreciate it, too. But what with Christmas and travels and so on, there's been no chance to watch much more of it.

Yet.

I am so glad to hear that the yoga feels good! I am glad that your back is mending. Clearly, all it needed was three weeks in the Caribbean.

White Collar, hm? I know zero about it. Feel free to pimp it in my general direction, dear Fajrdrako...!

I think weeks of leisure in the Caribbean is good for anyone!

White Collar is a show about an FBI Agent and the counterfeiter/forger he works with. It's a very intelligent show, with a lot of wit and charm.

Slashy, too.

I wish I could have counted my recent time off work as "leisure." I had to use it playing phone-tag with various offices and entities, to make sure all my paperwork was in order and that I'd have a car to drive, and it all ended up giving me a lot of stress.

I'd like to see White Collar. As long as it doesn't paint to heroic a picture of the FBI, an entity I strongly disapprove of and do not respect in the least!

I was watching some of Season Four Xena recently, and found it just plain charming and cute how the episodes all played right to the slashy subtext. Remembering back to when it was first-run -- that kind of thing was pretty daring to try. And now, it just looks quaint! How far we've come.

I just wish someone would get around to writing a killer Wonder Woman script so Lucy Lawless can do the character in movies while she's still in her prime. (And I don't even know if Lucy Lawless wants to be Wonder Woman in the movies, but -- gad, I sure hope she does!)

I don't know whether White Collar makes the FBI look heroic. No more than, say, X-Files. Though it's about FBI cases it really isn't any kind of a procedural, it's about the relationship between Burke and Caffrey and the story of their personal lives. Not so much cops and robbers as "what if the cop and the robber had to be friends?" It's more like "The Odd Couple" than most FBI stories.

I never thought Xena was daring. I thought it should have been more overt!

There's still a Wonder Woman movie in the works, slated for 2011. It's had its share of troubles but no more so than the last Superman/i> movie, which I'd say was reasonably ill-fated and not, in the end, very good. In fact, the things that made it a good movie made it a bad Superman movie, and vice versa. Megan Fox has the Wonder Woman role and I think she looks awful, but if she can act, and if the script is good, I might well come to like her. Who knows? I wish I were more of a Wonder Woman fan, or that I cared more than I do.
