That would have worked better had she not actually dated at least two stalkers, and one extra creepy. S1 Angel could have been in any of this footage.
(never read/watched Twilight, but seen enough around to want to make a large sign saying I had this username LONG AGO and that no, that guy cannot now own this word, damnit)
According to half the internet, it's just not very well written, though I don't know how much I'd trust that, and I definitely don't plan to go out of my way to read it (might if it came my way for some strange reason. Slim chances, where I am). The summary sounds like a Mary Sue wank fantasy of thinly veiled fanfic, and you know what, I'm good with that as an idea; many authors have those hidden away somewhere, and a lot of reactions I see around seem to focus on people being bitchy that she got to make money off her wankfic and they didn't. That is not to say I am a crusader out to defend this thing, which in all honesty makes me shiver in an unpleasant way.
I know less about Twilight than you do (as I've been ignoring it as much as possible) and I've certainly heard a lot of bizarre and unpalatable things about it. No interest in reading it unless it's the only thing left on my desert island, and maybe not even then.
But, but, but... I can't help thinking that it's popular (and then again, unpopular) because it's written for thirteen-year-old girls, and that makes me suspicious that all the negative criticism it gets is from people who don't like what the thirteen year old girl likes, and aren't tolerante enough to laugh it off and ignore it. It's a prejudice then to attack it on grounds of adult taste, or boy's tastes, and so on. Thirteen-year-old girls have a right to have books and movies they love. Even if they aren't good. (Even if some of us were never that sort of thirteen-yaer-old girl.)

The difference between Angel in Buffy and Edward in Twilight is that I came to like Angel.
There are probably other differences, but all I know about Twilight I learned from this vid.
