And we thought we'd never see Mal Reynolds again...

This clip had me laughing: Castle meets Captain Mal?. And Buffy thrown in for good measure.

I'm not sure I approve of such self-referentiality, but it really is fun. Too bad there isn't another character on the show named Zoe or River or Jayne...

castle, firefly, tv

I loved it - the lightness of touch made it OK for me. And a Buffy reference is always good. At least his costume wasn't - ah. You haven't made it to Season 7 yet have you, naughty girl?

No, I'm still on season 5.

Yes, Buffy references are always good.

I'm looking forward to this.

You
so need to get further through S5.

Watching Buffy might be a good thing to do while my back heals.

That is *classic*. You've got to love a show that enjoys playing with the genres!! Once again -- Nathan Fillion -- can you be more awesome?

Offhand - no, I don't think Nathan Fillion could be more awesome. I really can't think how.

Because of that clip I think I need to check out Castle... is it a good show?

Castle... is it a good show?

I think it's brilliant.

Now, it isn't Firefly. What could be? It isn't that it isn't well written: it is. But Firefly was uniquely original and imaginative. Castle is a much more standard romantic-comedy-thriller theme, but done with beautiful acting from both stars, and good, witty writing. One of the best shows of the year, in my opinion.

That whole scene was just made of fun! I almost died laughing and squeeing. Nathan still looks hot dressed like that:D

There was self-referentiality by other actors/characters in all be smaller way. Jon Huertas dressed up as Sgt. Poke who he played in Generation Kill.
