In to the Unknown

I haven't updated much in the last month as things have been really hectic. The weather has been disgustingly hot and humid, nasty, roll on december!!!!! We had a big storm the other night I wanted to hide under the table with the cat but I tried to be brave for my daughter, she isn't frightened but gets upset when I am, so quivering with fear I ( Read more... )

Good to see you back! :) It sounds like your husband's job change is a positive move in spite of the commute, as it's a field he is enthusiatic about. (Anyhow my boyfriend has a 93 mile commute every time he wants to visit here, and we both often drive far afield for jobs...you get used to it, and sometimes it brings new excitement to the relationship because you don't take time together for granted.) I'm still looking for a third job, John's still looking for steady income between video shoots, even my mother is unemployed. Ironically, she has the best resume of all of us, but right now I'm the only incone earner and it's quite a bitch. So if you can decrease your work hours, you should. You've certainly spent years with too little free time.

Good luck to him - it's never too late to change the things that make us wish for more.

It would be great if you could get a whole day to yourself off. Amanda at school and Mr Faith 80 miles away would mean CRAZY!PARTAY tiemz at yours. Or you could just sit on the couch and watch Quincy all day...

Thanks, yeah I could get used to having a day vegging out in front of the tv. I owe you a letter, from a little while ago when you asked how things were and I didn't reply, going on hols soon will write you a nice long letter then.

It is positive and hopefully lucritive as well. He'll be getting back into his specialist field after an absence of around 10 years, he's kept up with alot of the developments that have gone on over the years and so I'm sure the transition will go well.

I just have to decide how many hours and what days I want to drop and whether the boss will agree to the days I want. I'm not going to rush into it though a couple of my work mates assumed I would be giving up work altogether. While it's a nice idea I think I would miss the job too much so I won't be giving it up altogether. And it seems pointless to drop hours in the last quarter (busiest quarter) of the year only to be given them back as overtime.

I hope that things improve for John and your mum too.

I bet your guy and mine must know a bunch of the same people. We just had one of his higher-ups over and they were from the UK. Can't remember their name now but they loved our kids. They get extra points for that! :D

Good luck with cutting down those hours, girl!

What company does your other half work for? They may have crossed paths at one time or another without realising it. Until friday hubby is with BAe then it's off to a company called Photech

I just have to decide which hours and what days.......

It's nice to see again *missed you huggles*

Starting a new job at any age nowadays isn't the easiest thing, my neighbour's daughter is in (somewhat) the same boat and she's only 26. She worked for some firm downtown (started working shortly before Uni - that was 5 years ago) and it was sold in a hostle takeover. But here's hoping that everything works out *crosses fingers and toes*

It will be ok I'm sure. Change is always scarey and so far hubby has changed jobs roughly every 5 years. :)
