After two goes I have finally received my copy of the Halifax fp programme that Hugo was in. I pre ordered it way back in the summer (I think it was then) when Crowjane mentioned that it was finally going to be released ( Read more... )

I have always wanted to see this,but sadly I do not have a multi-region dvd player.
I have seen the screenshots from it,Hugo looks really scrumptious in them.

If you'd like to buy a bootleg NTSC copy, I'll try to dig up the address I got mine from. It cost $20 and was medium quality but is in NTSC format.

Go here: http://www.bpm123.net/
Then click on H to find the specific program title...copy/paste that into an email here: bobs.movies@verizon.net requesting the particular episode in whatever format you'd like...you should probably read the website's "ground rules" first but I placed an order with no problems. They only sell to countries in which the program is unavailable in local formats so US buyers should have no trouble.

I enjoy watching Halifax FP here on Showcase. Hugo looks so good :)

If it were possible I would tape just the epis that he's in. Sadly, my palantír in the shop.

I haven't had much success find Hfx fp on dvd yet....

I got my copy from ezydvd.com.au it's region 4 so you do need a multi region player.

I have an NTSC bootleg copy of this epiosode so I've been curious to hear how good the image quality is on the official release. If it's only so-so I'll stick with the version I have because it's compatible with my TV/DVD player, but I might splurge on the Aussie version if it was an exceptional transfer...ironically I've only watched the first half of the episode after all this time but I did enjoy it. The lead character takes herself a bit too seriously but so do all lady cops (the men, meanwhile, get borderline abusive and think they're clever doing so...I watch way too many cop shows...) ;)

I watch too many as well and I think you're right about the women in these things.

I would say the quality of the dvd is exceptional, just as clear as you'd expect from tv and not at all like the Right Hand Man or Almost whose quality left alot to be desired.

I ended up with 6 episodes to watch, but I haven't got around to the others yet. Each box has three dvd's inside.

I might consider buying the set of episodes featuring Hugo once I upgrade to a universal player (I've gotten John interested in paying for half of it, but we still have more pressing financial concerns to sort out before we can get to that...)Thanks for the data.

Was Hugo in more than one episode? I thought that 'Isn't it Romantic' was the only one.

Yep I sure can. I got my copy from ezydvd.com.au great site, fast service and reasonable prices, for international buyers they deduct the GST tax. Making it even more reasonable. LOL it's almost cheaper for me to buy from them than it is from my own store!
