So, the locking mechanism on our landing window has been broken for ages. This morning, two blokes from [window company] came round to take a look at it - and one of them only went and fell off the ladder when the bloody thing slipped backwards and went out from underneath him. Ladderman went home and was told to stay off his feet for a couple of days, so he's not 100%.

On an unrelated note, I think I've got the fountain working properly again through the highly unscientific application of Large Stick.

Ah, didn't realise that. Still, "off his feet for a couple of days" is a lot better than, eg, breaking his back/neck/appendages. Poor guy. :/

Yeah. The other dude was saying that he was really worried [whilst the paramedic was checking the ladder guy out] because ladder guy fell with his knee *through* the ladder, and he's had surgery on that knee twice already ... so it could have been all sorts of worse ( ... )
