[Review] Movie night, episode 17!

Jan 27, 2013 02:54

Wow. It's been ages since the last one of these! I blame the fact that I've been reviewing for everyone else under the sun rather than actually watching/listening to stuff for myself. Still, I've found time for a couple of movies lately, so here's the first one. This was actually a loan from the lovely hellbound_heart - she lent it to me months ago and I ( Read more... )

Great review, and I'm very pleased you enjoyed it! I thought you would - I pride myself that I'm pretty good at selecting films for people! (That fight scene, where all the guys throw their umbrellas to the ground in one single move? It's like ballet. Impeccable.) Out of interest, because I think it's fun to compare thoughts, here are mine...

I was going to bring Warlock with me to Whitby, as it's a fond childhood memory of mine - and I reckon I still will bring it, when the Met Office stop tormenting me! :)

Yep - I see we took a lot of the same things from it, and you said a lot that occurred to me but that I didn't include here, too (mostly about the editing etc). And yes, agree that the umbrella scene was amazing. All the choreography is pretty much bang on, indeed.

And please, yes! I have never seen Warlock and would be very happy to.

(BTW, is the copy of "The Living Dead at the Manchester Morgue" that I found hiding under my bed just now yours as well? I'm certain I borrowed that from somebody and gods forgive me, I can't remember who! >.> )

Is this a English or foreign movie?.

I just got through watching the boondock saints movies a couple of days ago. I preferred the first one but the second one had two awesome songs on there that I liked by a singer Ty Stone. - I watched the movies because of Sean Patrick Flanery.

Japanese, it's based on a manga. Subtitled rather than dubbed, which I prefer anyway because dubbing usually sounds so silly!

I'm sure I saw the first Boondock Saints movie ages ago but I remember very little of it, and I haven't seen the second one. I probably should...

Okay. dubbed movies do sound so stupid. lol I've watched some foreign movies before but not many.

Yeah. It was my first time watching. It was alot different then I thought but it was pretty good. - Let me know if you ever do watch the second one.

PS. Just cause I'm curious. Have you ever seen or heard of the movie Powder from 1995. (I believe) It also stars SPF. It was my first movie I saw of his. I loved (Still do) that movie since I was a kid.
