I was not born a bah-humbug kinda gal. I know some people are born that way, from the cradle full of cyncism and negativeness. I was born full of light and joy and eagerness and challenge and excitement. And from the time I was 3, I loooooved Christmas.

Now? This year I am not even putting up a tree. I am so full of bah-humbugginess I make myself ( Read more... )

What NO Tree! The actual act of getting a tree and decorating it always helps get me in the Christmas mood. Plus, I LOVE the smell of a Christmas Tree! We got a Frazier Fir this year and it makes the house smell so nice! Plus it's fun to watch the new kitty try to climb up it! We always wait a day or so to decorate so that the kitties have time to "explore".

We've got the same sort of Doctor thing going on here this year, which makes it even more important to engage in a little celebration of the season.

Don't make me come down there and drag you out to have some fun! (smile)

Seriously, just enjoy your family and friends and perhaps the Christmas Spirit will sneak up on you.

I *knoooow*! I'm evil and ashamed!
But I just can't find the time. Instead I am going to mom's (who decorates every inch of her 3600 sq ft house for Christmas). It takes her a week of 12 hr days to get it all up. Then she has parties all month of December. I'll enjoy it all her house, I promise!
Really!

That's OK, we still love you!

Enjoy the holiday way way you can, especially if Mom does all the work!

Faith, don't feel bad, we all go thru those "seasons". last year, I was in a bah-humbug mind set because of the need to have back surgery right before Christmas...well, things went from bad to worse, and I ended up staying in the hospital for 3 and 1/2 months, almost dying twice from a staff infection...so this year, Christmas is a true blessing...just being able to see all the lights and even fight the crowds at the malls brings warmth to my heart. Seasons change, and sometimes the smallest thing can change your outlook! Try focusing on the "Reason for the Season" and I can promise, you will feel better inside!
Merry Christmas from Don Kiesling, Enclave member.

Thank you, Don!
I am enjoying my mom's tree, and her ultra-Christmassy house.
And then I can come home to my undecorated house and relax from it all!
