After my wildly successful word binge two weekends ago, I expected things to smooth and steady out a bit on the Superhero Thing.

They didn't.

I had one honeymoon day the following morning of my prescribed 700 words and since then have not written so much as a sigh (and I write a lot of sighing, especially in first drafts ( Read more... )

Yeah, mostly all I ever see in my head are whisps. Writing something is the only way to figure out what's really there.

You should also remember that you never really know how much of that "side" material could actually wind up in the final manuscript. What stays and what goes is draft #2 territory. Also known as my territory. ;)
