From outside the motel room, Dean could hear Faith begging them to let her out, but he forced himself to ignore her cries. He let his head fall back against the wall, closing his eyes and praying Bobby would figure this out, because he sure as hell didn’t know what was happening. He may have been a little mad with Faith, but he never wanted to lose her. Unfortunately, the sinking feeling in his gut was telling him that the girl inside that room was definitely not his girl.

Finally Bobby emerged from the room, Faith’s angry yells carrying on the wind as he shut the door behind him. Upon seeing Dean’s hope filled expression, he merely shook his head. “I don’t know what to tell you, boys.”

Dean could feel his temper rising, but he tried to push his feelings down. “What’s wrong with her?”

“That’s just it. There’s nothing wrong with her. She’s not a demon, and I’m pretty sure she’s not crazy. She’s just… not Faith anymore.”

The last bit of Dean’s will finally snapped, and he yelled out, “Well then, who the hell is she?!”

Bobby sighed and ran a hand over his face. “She says she’s Faith Lehane. She knows all of us, but she doesn’t know a damn thing about hunting, or being a slayer.”

Sam got up from where he was sitting on the curb and walked over to the two men. “You think she has amnesia?”

The older man shook his head. “No, no, I don’t…” He let out a long sigh. “She says she’s from Lawrence. Kept going on about how she was going to tell your parents about what you all were doing.”

Sam shared a look with Dean. “Our parents?”

“Yeah. The girl swears up and down that John and Mary are alive and together. Claims you’re all one big, happy family. Whatever this is, it’s not amnesia.”

“She was fine just a couple hours ago! The same old bitchy Faith we’ve known forever, and now you’re telling me she’s gone looney?” Dean yelled out into the night, his voice echoing in the deserted parking lot.

“That’s not-” Bobby started.

Dean cut him off, moving closer as he screamed, “Then what? Yesterday she was my Faith, and now she’s gone all fucking Stepford on me, how do you explain that?”

“Look, boy, I want her back just as much as you do, alright? But you’re not gonna solve a damn thing by standing here screaming at me!”

Dean tore his gaze away from Bobby and walked over to the Impala. He let himself sink to the ground and rested against the tire. “Where’d she go?”

The fluttering sound of wings caused everyone’s heads to turn. The newcomer walked up to the group and simply replied, “Another world.”
