Let's sing the update song, shall we?

1. "Super Duper Paper: We're Super Duper": The Job

I'm feeling increasingly compotent with each passing day I get through without bringing the company to financial ruin by, I don't know, entering the wrong amount into the credit card machine. My aunt is leaving for Colorado the first week of August, which means a ( Read more... )

yayz, the future, my so called life

You have no idea how excited I am that you are leaning towards teaching. Granted, I'm completely biased because I am currently completing my education degree, but still, color me giddy. :D

I'm also applauding your desire to work with K-6 since I'm seeking an elementary endorsement (although my ideal teaching range is K-2, I'll be certified through 8). Definitely take your time and figure out which school is the best one for you, your current life situation, and the one with the best program set-up/schedule. It's good that you are looking a few years down the road because that provides ample time for research and pinpointing the top program.

I'm very early in my schooling process and my student-teaching internship doesn't even start until September (I'll be teaching 2nd grade), but if you ever have any questions for me over the next year, feel free to ask. :D

Also, I highly approve of your Friends nod. It really does work perfectly for a 3-point journal entry. Well played. :D

OHAI FUTURE TEACHER FRIEND :D As if you weren't cool enough already...

So glad you're on board with my idea! I'm telling you, the more I think about, the more excited I am at the prospect of molding young minds, heh. And as anxious as I am to get started, I too am glad that I have lots of time to research and figure out my exact game plan. It'll make it that much easier once I actually start.

Yay for you being on your way to teacherdom! I will definitely hit you up with any questions I have :) thanks for the encouragement! *hugs*

This put such a big smile on my face, Caitlin! I'm so happy that everything is going well for you. Except that whole tendonitis thing (which, as an aside, sounds so fake and made up -- I know it's definitely not! -- but damn. Tendonitis, doctors? That's the best you could do??)

Uhmmm... ♥.

1. Yay for getting a handle on things! And if you promise to answer the phone that way, I swear to you, I'm calling, so I can LOL at it again. :)

2. Ick. :P Hope you mend quickly.

3. Well, I won't lie - it's a tough profession (despite that nasty "those who can't, teach" bullshit), but I'm really happy for you feeling good about future plans and I know you'd be fantastic at it. Any help/advice I can provide I'm more than willing to share, although I'm a 6-12 cert, so I realize there's a difference.

Haha well I probably won't answer the phone that way in case geeky movie guys hear that I'm alone and proceed to stalk me. But feel free to call anyway! :D

Did I even know you teach?! God, I'm like the worst friend ever. I'm sure the job has its hardships, but I like to think that the good outweighs out the bad :) I'll definitely be coming to you with questions!

I may just take you up on that... :D

It's hard in that you just want to know that every kid has a great home to go back to, and that isn't always the case. That was rough. But it is really rewarding too. And you are far from the worst friend. I used to teach, but haven't for a few years. :)
