in my own little corner

Well, looks like in the LJ world, The Office got a big thumbs down.

And what a surprise, I loved it.  So I'm in the minority yet again, and that's okay. I still say that those who are so continually disappointed by the show should stop watching, but that's just my two cents as always. As someone on MTT said, "Life's too short to be pissed off at ( Read more... )

LOL, I was wondering about how you would have felt about it.

I just don't feel wowed by the show anymore, not that I'm disappointed in it. I mean, my expectations for it are already pretty much nonexistent, so it's not really possible for them to disappoint me, but yeah. I'm just surprised they've let it get so standard sitcom.

And that's expected. It's been on for five years now? There are tons of things that I liked five years ago that I'm over now (American Idol, Wicked, scrunchies). Circle of TV life and what not :)

Honestly, I think the show peaked really early, and it's hard to come back from that season after season still trying to please the early followers. It's just not possible. With all the crap on TV these days (Kath and Kim, Parks and Rec, every reality show ever), I personally feel lucky that I at least have one show that's smartly written. Again, that's just my feelings on it. YMMV.

Even with TV show disagreements, we're still friends, y/y?

LOL @ scrunchies!

You crack me up and OF COURSE we're still friends. :D

And you're right of course. Also, I'm glad you are still able to enjoy it consistently. I admire that, corny as it may sound. :D

Honestly, it could have a lot to do with the fact that lately I go apeshit over anything baby related. So.

First off - I <3 your new icon you used above this

ia with you completely (as do I with Alan), I'm really glad to see one other person think it was a good finale - and I still say thank you NBC for the nifty gifty birthday present you bestowed upon me last night

I cannot WAIT to see what Fox does with Glee.

Enjoy your funtivites and have a great weekend!

Isn't it cute?! I found it on community.livejournal.com/office_icons. Great stuff over there at the moment :)

High five for finale love! We'll have to stick together.

HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY! Sorry I was a bad LJ friend and missed it. Glad you had a good one!

well no matter my disappointment about what takes place on a TV show, i still love the heck out of you, miss. :)

i was let down, that's not a secret, but i've been a non-hater for all this time, still loving the show week to week (i may have been the only one who actually loved "moroccan christmas!"), and am still sticking by it. i've just never loved the add-a-baby thing. but, the writers have proven my doubts wrong before, so my fingers are crossed and i'll most definitely be back in september (and writing away this summer)...

but to reiterate - you are dawesome. :)

Teh luv in dis place, I feels it :)

Not every episode is going to be a home run, and I'm sure expectations were high given that it was the finale. I didn't find the first 25 minutes all that funny but those last five? What can I say, I'm a sap.

Twin icons!!!

I wasn't happy with the finale, mostly because I expected TONS of twists like in past seasons. We only got the one, maybe the little glimpse between Dwangela, but that was it. I think that JAM having a baby is... predictable. Nice, but predictable. And I will admit that the scene was sweet, but I saw it coming, which harshed it for me. But yeah, that's just my beef.

I'm glad you liked it though! And I'll be there in September. I just hope I'm wrong and they find a way to surprise me again. :)

See, I guess I didn't find it all that predictable considering there's been no indication of it coming this whole season. And I remained spoiler free (for the most part), so even though I'd heard rumors, I refused to believe it till I saw it. And I think JF and JK played the scene so beautifully, I couldn't help but love it.

Plus, I think TO has a reputation for throwing a lot of twists in the season premiere. The flashback to Casino Night at the beginning of Season 3, the proposal at the beginning of Season 5...I don't know, big stuff might go down come September.

Yeah, like I said, I will be there in September. I've invested too much into the show to turn my back on it now, but like I said in an earlier post, it isn't on the top of my list anymore. It's been demoted to two. :)

THUMBS DOWN? WHAT?
I mean, I barely remember any of the episode because the last minute was the most epic thing ever, so I'm not really one to judge. I need to go back and rewatch the whole thing or something.
But boo @ LJ world. This show is still brilliant.

I don't know where they're getting all this haterade but I refuse to drink it :) We'll stick together in our Halpert-baby love.
