I hate snow, hills, and oil heat.

On Saturday, I *tried* to make it to the Halloween party I was supposed to go to. There was no snow on the ground when I left my house. By the time I made it to the parkway, not ten miles away, the road was basically impassable. Two and a half hours later, I made it home. Had it not been for some very kind ( Read more... )

Eeeeesh, that is a giant pain in the ass, I'm sorry! Hope it gets sorted out soon....

WORD, yo.

We're looking into the following things ASAP, in no particular order:
1.) Switching to propane for heat.
2.) Fireplace insert.
3.) Generator.

The other thing that sucks is that the electrician was supposed to come run the line for our dishwasher tomorrow, but if the power's still off, we'll have to reschedule.

Oh ugh. Somehow that's always the worst -- when things that go wrong fuck up not only your current state of being, but other tangential things that only HAPPEN to be happening now. Boo. And hugs.

I'm trying to be philosophical about it. The dishwasher's been sitting in the dining room for three months. Is another couple of days really going to hurt?

Reading the Hobbit to each other. You are the cutest couple evar.

Also, told my mom about you. She thinks you sound adorable, and wants to meet you eventually, specially since she hasn't seen Rich in a while. *Jewish Proxy-Mom Guilt*

Rich has never read it! And I wanted to re-read it because I keep hearing Things about the movie which make me scratch my head.

I would love to meet your mom! I have no idea when, mind you, since this whole no-electricity thing is messing with my schedule like you would not believe, but eventually, yes.

We missed you, and I can only imagine the struggle to get up the hill (assuming it's the one I'm thinking of)...

Also, Subaru's rock... :)

The one just past the Walmart shopping center. Shit was fucked, yo. As I was making my way up, I heard this loud CRACK, and a branch fell rightinfront of a car on the other side. They were able to stop in time, but if it had happened a few seconds later....

I really like those nice little super fuel efficient cars, like the Fiat or the Yaris, but I'm willing to bet they *suck* in snow. The 2011 Impreza gets something like 36 mpg, AND it's got the all wheel drive going for it!

Yar. If this continues much longer, we're probably going to lose all of the food in our fridge, too.
